While he did get the ball first, his follow-thru took Ander out. And already having been carded and knowing you got lucky in the first half on not being sent off, you make a tackle like that, you're pushing your luck. Plus, IIRC, it was at the middle of the pitch... it didn't feel like a necessary challenge. It was very reckless.
