No I know it’s not a knock, it’s your opinion. An opinion that I reallllly disagree with

To me Messi’s chip shots have always been in a class of their own. So much so that he’s starting to score chip shots from outside the box. That is absolutely unheard of.

Players have “chipped” or “lofted” shots from outside the box before, but that’s usually when the GK is coming out or out of position. Messi is doing it in now with FK’s and during gameplay with defenders and GK’s in position.

These chippers outside the box probably won’t work in the Champions League due to the fact there are world class defenses out there. But he’s still doing it against good La Liga competition.

He tied him in the same number of goals scored for city that Henry had for arsenal and he did it in 48 less matches (which is crazy considering the amount of games he’s missed cause of injury) Aguero also has a decent chance to be the 2nd all time top scorer in premier league history too. He’s 46 off of Rooney at 2nd right now. If he can keep up his 20+ goal a season form like he has seems like damn near his whole career he can get there for sure.

Messi and Ronaldo have raised the bar so damn high for what we consider to be the level you gotta be at to be the best we almost can’t keep the bar that high after they retire cause it would be just unrealistic to measure the young and future great players to come to that bar

Wouldn’t be surprised if Mbappe scored ~50 for like 2 seasons. I’d be shocked if he kept up the level for anywhere close to as long as Messi and CR7 have though
