Vibes were lit at Mulligan's in Hoboken for the NLD. Snowy conditions did not damper the turnout in the slightest. Very strong Spurs contingency to begin the match. Saw multiple Sonny jerseys. Evened out with Gunners supporters around the 20th minute.
Although Kane held the ball too long and should have fired a shot, Dav Sanchez is largely responsible for "Rambo's" opening goal. What was he thinking stepping forward in that manner in the middle of the pitch?
Trippier redeemed himself somewhat after the OG debacle midweek. Was lively down the right channel, when all of us expected Mustafi to be the one exposed on Tottenham's left side of attack.
Sissoko was easily one of the best players on the pitch throughout. Wreaked havoc every minute of the match, while providing cover for Trippier, as he often has to do defensively.
A bunch of us were joking and taking bets on how quickly Lamela would secure a yellow card. Over/under was five minutes. Sure enough...
Ref missed a clear yellow on Xhaka fouling Kane in the first half. Overall, Spurs were unlucky to be down 1-0 at half.
If Danny Rose's studs-up challenge on Leno was a yellow, then Torreira's late foul with studs on Rose should always have been a yellow. Instead of a straight red.
Both penalties were of the softer variety. Mustafi definitely shoved/elbowed Kane in the back. Which is mind-boggling because Kos was shielding right in front of Kane. Same on the pen Auba drew. Was definitely pushed to ground but still a soft judgment.
Edit:
That Leno double-save on Eriksen and Sissoko was flames. Might have saved Arsenal a point in the grand scheme of things.
