Nice car but from my perspective, I would never cop a C-Class.
Once the first couple rounds of leases expire, I wont be able to justify the price for this when you can get a 3 series in the same condition for 3-4k cheaper.
There are no disadvantages. The only issue you may run into is with lower quality jobs. A lot of entry level helpdesk jobs require A+ certs because a lot of OEMs require techs to have them in order to order / replace parts on computers. You don't even want to work those jobs though. They usually...
Honestly, getting an A+ is worthless IMO.
The only way I'd reccomend it is if you have literally no knowledge of computers. Start with either a Network+ or CCNA then move up to the Security +.
Also look into the Certified Ethical Hacker and GIAC Incident response or Penetration testing...
You guys have it right by getting that Sec+. InfoSec is a great field to get into.
Income potential is crazy. I've been in the industry for over a year now.
Is it easy? that depends on you.
How good are you with computers? Can you remove a virus? Setup and properly configure a router? Install printers and other type of devices?
If you can do those things without any formal training, then self instructing yourself the things that you would learn...
What you need is a change of scenery. You've hit your goals financially and career wise, right?
Spin the globe and pick a random spot on the map to visit.
Go alone even if you have too.
I lucked out and was able to do CS IS which only required basic sciences and calc 2 as the highest level of math.
My university changed the programm while I still attended for new incoming students though. They added physics and discrete math as a requirement for all CS students.
But dont shy...
I can most definitely relate to this. My next job has to be a direct hire with good tuition reimbursement. I really want to start my masters, but do not want to face the brunt of the costs. I’ll probably be looking to make a move Q1 of 2014.
Good luck. Hope you find something soon.
Private sector contracting is most definitely not what’s up. My first job out of college was as a contractor for a fortune 500.. I hated it. Office politics were unavoidable, they treated you like second rate employees, and the environment was just toxic. Plus I had to PTO at that job which...
The pay isnt too bad either. I make 60k atm, but in a years time I should be able to pull upwards of 80K+ if I switch jobs.
Thats actually how I got this job. One of my boys from college worked in my exact same position making what I make, then bounced after a year and a half and is now making...
My position is entry level, so it may be atypical for most security related fields.
My day goes like this:
For 2-3 hours a day I run risk reports on all the servers/computers in our network. I formulate these reports into alerts that are sent to the system admins for remediation. Most of this...
Any specific reason why you chose CIS? Running from math requirements? :lol
I ask because CIS is more of a business \ database \ big data type of major. I only did CSIS to avoid some of the higher level math and CS courses.
Im not exactly sure of what field you're looking to progress into, but...
A CS degree is meant to train you on how to become a computer scientist, not an IT professional.
The bright side is that the skills you learn as a CS major enable most to easily transition into the IT industry.
I will say this: No matter what you studied in college, if you do not have the...
You’re lucky I’m bored at work. Since I have some free time for the next hour so, I might be able to provide some prospective for you since I graduated with a degree in CSIS and have been working in the industry for over a year now. This will be long, so bare with me.
First, you have to figure...
