I like to be comfortable if I'm restricted in a seat for longer than an hour or 2. I don't see the benefit of dressing up on an airplane. People act like getting up to go to the bathroom is like modeling the runway. Trying way too hard.

If those are your exact requirements, then I would suggest towards a macbook air. There's no reason you would need the performance enhancements of the MBP. I noticed that most of the replies recommending a MBP didn't follow up with any real rationale nor argument against the macbook air aside...

I suggest you check out a specialty running shop. They often give free gait analysis. They record your feet as you run and they are able to analyze your pronation. This then allows them to recommend corrective shoes.
