My engine is 13 years old. You think inflated numbers are going to help sell units? It's been generally the same power numbers since the cars inception in North America. Besides I don't think crank horsepower is inflated numbers, I just think cars are being advertised closer to wheel horsepower...
No it was done on a dynojet. The numbers would be lower on a mustang dyno. While I agree with you that the drivetrain loss is more significant with an awd, how would you expect a car with 305hp and 290 tq to the crank stock to make 300 whp and 340 wtq?
