Depending on the size and placement of the tattoo, you might be able to pull it off using two mirrors (if you have them). It's still not the easiest thing in the world to do and taking a good photo could be tricky, but it's the only way I can think of doing it on your own.
Most artists don't expect tips - it's a sound philosophy, as not to set yourself up for disappointment - and it's tough to set a price point on their work because it's so personal to them... ask for too little and they do themselves a disservice, ask for too much and they come across as arrogant...
Just letting them breathe. I tried to minimize friction between the newly tattooed skin and footwear so I rocked thong slippers as opposed to the strapped, athletic kind... wore looser socks and sneakers whenever I had to. It also sounds obvious to say "don't scratch" but considering how often I...
This is going to be much more insignificant (and, hopefully, humorous) compared to some of the recent confessions on this thread but here goes nothing:
Whenever I hear Taylor Swift's "22" it triggers an unexplainable "Come at Me, Bro" response within me. Not because I can't stand the song - if...
I'm in the exact opposite situation. Got both arm sleeves done, working on getting my legs covered now as well as my back. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but I think my arms would've been the least unpleasant of all of them.
Different for everybody, though...
I never thought I'd get anything done on my lower body but I've come around to the idea. Left foot and top of the left thigh are done, I'm planning to pretty much cover as much as I can, also because of the real estate restrictions haha.
Cool, thanks man. I figured the calves wouldn't be a pleasant experience, regardless of how much insulation I'm packing there haha.
I found my foot twitchy, which isn't too surprising considering how sensitive it is and how many nerves you're hitting in the area. Took me longer to get into a...
^Sipy those pieces are bang-on, good job on getting them done.
How was the lower leg for you? That's where my next piece is going to be and I find my legs are less sensitive than my arms, but that could just be wishful thinking...
Agree that Christian was always at his best when paired with Edge, and that as a singles performer he'd never be the main guy. I just feel he's better than a lot of people give him credit for, and that it was nice to see him hold a non-mid-card level strap for a short amount of time. Did he...
It's a shame that they're treating Christian like a plug or a Plan B at this point, where if they find somebody better they'll swap him out of the EC. Injuries have obviously played a big part in things, but back when he was 100% dude could really go.
I'm glad they gave him the belt and I'm...
Currently listening to the Cheap Heat podcast as well... it's been pretty informative so far for anybody who hasn't heard of the Punk situation or is looking for additional insight.

Got my lower body work started with this thigh piece from the fantastic Glen Paradis. If anybody is ever in Ottawa definitely check him out - Barnstormer Studio. Phenomenal artist, even better guy.
Not in the habit of posting pictures of my pieces anywhere, but to get recognized by one of my favorite comic book creators of all time was just too awesome not to share... as was my good buddy's excellent work on this sleeve. Anybody heading to / based in Toronto should definitely hit up Seven...
