Players rejected current 50/50 deal. Why would they take 50 or less at this point? They'll only take 50 if they get the system concessions they want. Owners aren't doing 50 AND concessions.

But the system issues are actually what the owners are most insistent on at this point. I don't see them moving that. They might move a tad on BRI but nothing else. Players want BRI AND system changes.

Looks like the "disgruntled" owners angling for 53-47 is a bit of reverse psychology. I don't think the players fall for it, though. Their problem is staving off an internal civil war. The upper tier players can afford to be principled, while the drones need every paycheck. Time's ticking...

They either need to sign the 50/50 or blow up the season. Enough's enough. They already know what's going to be in the dressed down proposal. Take 50/50. If not, get to decertifyin'. This has all gotten extremely petty and more "talks" are just going to be as fruitless as they've been forever.
