I love this phone. Havent had any real problems except one thing. When u make or answer call you put phone to your ear it turns to like a hibernate black screen this way u dont accidently touch anything while in conversation.It is supposed to light back up screen become active when u pull away...

It was probably doing the update thats why it was frozen. It does the update when phone is in hibernate mode or charging. DO NOT REMOVE BATTERYWHEN THIS HAPPENS!!!!!!!!!!!! If anything just hold down power button. But most reps set the update to go before they handed the phone over to people.

the back of my pre is glossy. Did u guys pick up the docking station? Is that why because i hear u have to change back of phone if u using docking station
