2015 NTWT WWE Night of Champions PPV Prediction Contest
In case you missed the last few months of Raw which were apparently reruns (or at least put me to sleep most weeks), tonight is the SEASON PREMIER OF RAW!!! I have no idea what that means or what will be different, but it is the season premier. I don't know what season or what is premiering, but hopefully it at least means a good show.
The major intrigue tonight is around the title match. Will The Primetime Players regain their tag team titles from The New Day? The winners of this heated rivalry will go on to face The Dudley Boys, who have beaten both teams already, this Sunday night at Night of Champions.
But for real, the real intrigue is around the Nikki Bella vs Charlotte Divas Title Match. Nikki has tied AJ Lee's record of 295 days as Divas Champion, and if she beats Charlotte tonight, she will become the longest reigning Divas Champion in history. When the "Divas Revolution" kicked off, I would have been all for one of the new girls uncrowning Nikki. But with the undeniable flop that has been Stephanie's rebranding of the division, I don't see any reason to take the title off Nikki tonight. Charlotte is not ready to be the champion, and putting the belt on her will probably do more harm than good. She has had botch after botch in the ring, and shows little natural charisma. Her mic work is extremely lacking as well. She has the natural athlete thing and her name going for her, but beyond that, I really don't see much else. In fact, outside of Sasha Banks and possibly Becky, I don't see much of anything in any of the main roster divas. I would even say that Sasha is extremely overrated, but I wouldn't want some of you basement dwelling geeks to hunt me down.
Back to this match, again, I see no reason for Nikki to drop the belt tonight. A win means AJ Lee never has to be mentioned again on WWE TV, until it is time for them to want to induct her into the Hall of Fame. Plus, as I said, Charlotte isn't ready. They have been teasing dissension among Team PCB(!), so I would just go ahead and have Paige turn full out heel tonight and cost Charlotte the match. Paige has been a complete trainwreck in the ring and her character sucks. So a change of direction is probably best for her.
Beyond that, we'll have the final builds for the matches between Seth Rollins and Sting for the WWE Title and Seth Rollins and John Cena for the US Title, both at Night of Champions this Sunday. We'll also see what is next with The Wyatt Family vs the Two Dudes That Love Drinking Cold Beer Together, and see if they actually get a third partner.
Miz TV will also have a "blockbuster" segment tonight. Unless it's simulcasting the MNF game, I doubt I'll be tuning in too closely.
