Last night was WWE's No Way Out PPV.  A very forgettable show.  Two good matches, nothing better than that, and a lot of filler.  It felt more like a 3 hour Raw without commercials as compared to a $55 PPV.  In fact, this show was actually 25 minutes SHORTER than last Monday's 3 hour Raw.  It's hard enough to justify buying WWE PPV's today, but once Raw goes permanently to 3 hours, I can't see how anyone will feel that it's worth it to pay for a PPV outside of the Big 3.  Especially after shows like last night.

  • Sheamus d Dolph Ziggler to retain the World Heavyweight Title.  A good opener, though I didn't like this match going on first.  There were some sloppy spots in this match, especially considering these two have worked together multiple times.  Crowd was strongly behind Ziggler but still cheered Sheamus when he won.  Ziggler hit his big spots but Sheamus always kicked out.  Sheamus won with the White Noise followed by the Brogue Kick. ***
  • Santino Marella d Ricardo Rodriguez in a Tuxedo Match.  Awful comedy that drew loud boring chants from the crowd.  Santino had a cobra sock on his foot and won with a kick.  Ricardo had Alberto Del Rio underwear on. DUD
  • Throughout the night, AJ met up with each of the competitors in the WWE Title Match.  She kissed each one.  Punk told her luck was for losers.  Bryan wanted to keep warming up.  Kane made out with her.
  • Christian d Cody Rhodes to retain the Intercontinental Title.  The match was fine but nothing more than a tv match that got a few extra minutes.  Christian won with a spear after Rhodes missed the Disaster Kick. **1/2
  • The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) d Primo & Epico, The Usos, and Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd to become the #1 Contenders for the Tag Team Titles.  The match was fine but the crowd didn't care at all since WWE has established all of these guys as nobodies.  The match was basically a setup for AW (Abraham Washington) to turn on Primo & Epico, costing them the match, and joining the Prime Time Players.  Unfortunately for the PTP, Truth is injured, so they have no tag team champions to face. **
  • HHH cut a promo saying he wanted to fight Brock Lesnar at Summerslam.  This was a boring promo that did nothing to get anyone excited for their match.  The crowd was not into it, and neither was I.  HHH is usually great in these situations, but he was really off here.
  • Layla d Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas Title.  Went too long and no one cared.  Sorry but Layla sucks in the ring.  She should be a dancer like when she first came in. DUD
  • Sin Cara d Hunico.  The same match we see every week on TV, only Sin Cara is adopting more of a WWE style which makes him just another guy.  The fans are reacting much less to Sin Cara now than before he was injured. *1/2
  • CM Punk d Kane & Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match.  The best match of the night but still nothing great, certain a few major steps down from last month's Punk v Bryan classic.  Bryan disappeared for a long time at the end of the match.  I haven't seen that he was injured, so this just seems to be how they laid out the match.  The finish saw Kane going for the Tombstone.  Punk escaped by going behind and just as he did this, AJ ran out and got on the apron.  Punk shoved Kane into AJ knocking her off the apron.  Kane was concerned and Punk took advantage by hitting the GTS to get the win.  Kane carried AJ to the back after the match as AJ looked back over Kane's shoulder and smiled at Punk. ***1/2
  • Ryback d Stan Stansky #1 & Stan Stansky #2. Same match as always.  Ryback now wants 3 or 4 guys. DUD
  • John Cena d The Big Show in a Steel Cage Match.  Laurinaitis and Mr. McMahon were sitting ringside.  A slow, plodding match.  The crowd didn't get into it like a normal Cena main event.  The finish saw Cena was going to walk out the cage door.  Laurinaitis tried to stop him.  Vince stopped Johnny.  Vince opened the door for Cena.  Johnny ran into Vince which slammed the cage door into Cena.  Big Show went for the KO Punch, Cena ducked and he ended up knocking out ref Scott Armstrong.  Big Show then hit the KO Punch on Cena.  Instead of walking out of the cage, Show started walking around the ring yelling how great he was.  Finally he decided to leave the cage but Brodus Clay came out with a steel chair to stop him.  Then a string of geeks (Santino, A-Ry, woo woo guy, Kofi) came out to try and stop Show by climbing into the cage but Show knocked them all off.  Finally Cena woke back up.  He hit the AA but the ref was out.  Cena tried to get out of the cage but Show stopped him.  Cena climbed to the top of the cage.  Laurinaitis tried to hit him with his crutch, but Brodus held Laurinaitis as Cena climbed out to win the match.  Show crawled out the door but was too late. *1/2
  • After the match, Cena got Laurinaitis and put him up on his shoulders.  Vince came over and yelled "You're Fired" and then Cena hit an AA through the Spanish announce table on Laurinaitis to end the show.
There were a few decent matches but nothing memorable and way too much filler.  If I paid for the show, I would be pretty pissed off.  Of course, I would have to be pretty stupid to think this show was worth paying for going into it.  Anyway, I give it a thumbs down, 3/10.  You didn't miss anything if you missed No Way Out.

- Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow will take place from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York. Confirmed for tonight’s show is the fallout from No Way Out with John Laurinaitis getting fired. Triple H is advertised to appear on tonight’s show.

WWE will be bringing back another Legend for tonight’s show to hype the 1,000th RAW in July. Last week’s Legend was Vader. It was previously announced that Grammy Award winner and former WrestleMania celebrity Cyndi Lauper will be guest hosting tonight’s show.

WWE is teasing the following for this week’s RAW:

* Have we seen the last of John Laurinaitis?

* Will Paul Heyman have a response to Triple H’s challenge for Brock Lesnar?

* The tension between Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler

* Zack Ryder’s “big homecoming

I think picking Sin Cara and Ryback having matches last probably put me over the top

I just want another HHH performance interrupted by Heyman...and more crazy AJ + Punk and Bryan...develop another solid story to build around. And let Dolph leave Vickie and start his MITB push.

Since we have the new thread up, I can got into some more detail of what you guys probably did not see.

During the Youtube/pre-show Abraham Washington went into why he book the fatal four way for the number one contenders for the tag belts and giving up on the rematch clause to do this match. Probably would of been important to do during the show so people would understand his turn.

Punk got into it with the ref and ring crew outside the ring after his match because they wanted him out of the ring to get the Rybak match out of the way to setup the cage. Punk refused and told them to F off. Got the crowd hyped and then after the replays. He left the ring and went to the crowd.

Sheamus got into it with the crowd. If you read his lips, he told someone in the front after his match that you booed me when I was a heel and you Boo me now as a face. They knew they had leeway being in the NY/NJ area to do this stuff.

Someone said that Ziggler was actually hurt which is why he did not super sell the brogue kick. He was suppose to but you could tell he took a beating.

Rhodes was yapping at that same group of fans in the front with Cena shirts. The people I said I spoke to at the event said they are east coast normals and come to almost every live event or Smackdown from here to the carolinas. So the wrestlers know most of them and they get that way since they know they will not be punished by WWE. (Like when Rhodes screamed stop clapping and he said including you to the guys in the front).

It was a Heel crowd for the most part but for the Heels who could actually do something. (Like Ziggler, Bryan, etc etc.)

Those reports about the event not being that filled, Most you know I am a nets fan and I grew up practically at the Izod Center, There were a lot of people there. the tarp areas were the seats behind the stage and rows in the lower ring where cameras were located. (Like my section you got to row 13 and all the way to row 10 was blocked off due to the camera. ) Guess I lucked out in Row 7.

There's plenty of dudes who lurk consistently though...the predictions contest brings them out or big events like Summerfest/Wrestlemania.

No, I didn't feel like writing a long preview so I did the PPV Contest instead.
Had to get the thread up early because I have a softball game after work.

- WWE’s Breaking News mobile alert service reported Monday afternoon that former General Manager and Executive Vice President of Talent John Laurinaitis will give his farewell address on tonight’s Raw SuperShow.

Laurinaitis added on Twitter, “They haven’t taken away my Twitter accounts yet … Tonight on #Raw, I say farewell with the class and dignity that #PeoplePower deserves.

They showed a backstage clip before the match of AW talking with Primo & Epico about why they were in this match.  Pretty meaningless since they've done nothing with AW over the past month.
What was the live crowd like during the HHH segment?  They seemed pretty dead/uninterested on TV.

Everyone stood when the music hit and pretty much remained standing until midway through his segment. It was bad but once he started about being there to fight, the crowd ate him up and cheered. I mean, it was pretty meaningless but was better than four of the matches that we saw last night.

Overall, Punk/Bryan/Kane, Show/Cena, Rhodes/Christian, and Sheamus/Ziggler were the main matches of the show. Ziggler got some pop. He fed off it too. You could tell he was breaking character a bit in that intro when he heard that most of the arena was for him especially with the Yes Man status he has in the WWE now and the limited shots that they have given him for doing the stuff he does for them. Plus, Vicki was not loud at all last night. Rosa made more noise than she did.

Santino and Ricardo got the "This is boring" and "We Want Ryder" treatment. The divas match a lot of people did their food/bathroom break and those that stayed chanted "Your both Hoskis." Cena did not have true heat last night either. it was just being a part of it. I think everyone pretty much knew it was Cena anyway in that match and they fed off of Show yapping to everyone ringside. I think that was the longest I have ever seen Cena sell anything as well.

Other than that, I guess I was lucky to see Punk/Bryan/Kane and then Cena/Show cause the rest of the show was just boring and stale. I can't really say it was horrible cause people were into it. Plus. how the hell were those ropes able to sustain both Cena and Show let alone Show???? I was just in amazement really.

I am beyond bored with anything Laurinitis related.

What is next for Cena? I am getting pretty tired of him these days too. No Way Out marked the 5th PPV in a row headlined by a John Cena non title match.

just got an alert that Brock's "camp" probably Heyman will address HHH's challenge tonight on raw
