Last night was WWE's No Way Out PPV. A very forgettable show. Two good matches, nothing better than that, and a lot of filler. It felt more like a 3 hour Raw without commercials as compared to a $55 PPV. In fact, this show was actually 25 minutes SHORTER than last Monday's 3 hour Raw. It's hard enough to justify buying WWE PPV's today, but once Raw goes permanently to 3 hours, I can't see how anyone will feel that it's worth it to pay for a PPV outside of the Big 3. Especially after shows like last night.
- Sheamus d Dolph Ziggler to retain the World Heavyweight Title. A good opener, though I didn't like this match going on first. There were some sloppy spots in this match, especially considering these two have worked together multiple times. Crowd was strongly behind Ziggler but still cheered Sheamus when he won. Ziggler hit his big spots but Sheamus always kicked out. Sheamus won with the White Noise followed by the Brogue Kick. ***
- Santino Marella d Ricardo Rodriguez in a Tuxedo Match. Awful comedy that drew loud boring chants from the crowd. Santino had a cobra sock on his foot and won with a kick. Ricardo had Alberto Del Rio underwear on. DUD
- Throughout the night, AJ met up with each of the competitors in the WWE Title Match. She kissed each one. Punk told her luck was for losers. Bryan wanted to keep warming up. Kane made out with her.
- Christian d Cody Rhodes to retain the Intercontinental Title. The match was fine but nothing more than a tv match that got a few extra minutes. Christian won with a spear after Rhodes missed the Disaster Kick. **1/2
- The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) d Primo & Epico, The Usos, and Justin Gabriel & Tyson Kidd to become the #1 Contenders for the Tag Team Titles. The match was fine but the crowd didn't care at all since WWE has established all of these guys as nobodies. The match was basically a setup for AW (Abraham Washington) to turn on Primo & Epico, costing them the match, and joining the Prime Time Players. Unfortunately for the PTP, Truth is injured, so they have no tag team champions to face. **
- HHH cut a promo saying he wanted to fight Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. This was a boring promo that did nothing to get anyone excited for their match. The crowd was not into it, and neither was I. HHH is usually great in these situations, but he was really off here.
- Layla d Beth Phoenix to retain the Divas Title. Went too long and no one cared. Sorry but Layla sucks in the ring. She should be a dancer like when she first came in. DUD
- Sin Cara d Hunico. The same match we see every week on TV, only Sin Cara is adopting more of a WWE style which makes him just another guy. The fans are reacting much less to Sin Cara now than before he was injured. *1/2
- CM Punk d Kane & Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match. The best match of the night but still nothing great, certain a few major steps down from last month's Punk v Bryan classic. Bryan disappeared for a long time at the end of the match. I haven't seen that he was injured, so this just seems to be how they laid out the match. The finish saw Kane going for the Tombstone. Punk escaped by going behind and just as he did this, AJ ran out and got on the apron. Punk shoved Kane into AJ knocking her off the apron. Kane was concerned and Punk took advantage by hitting the GTS to get the win. Kane carried AJ to the back after the match as AJ looked back over Kane's shoulder and smiled at Punk. ***1/2
- Ryback d Stan Stansky #1 & Stan Stansky #2. Same match as always. Ryback now wants 3 or 4 guys. DUD
- John Cena d The Big Show in a Steel Cage Match. Laurinaitis and Mr. McMahon were sitting ringside. A slow, plodding match. The crowd didn't get into it like a normal Cena main event. The finish saw Cena was going to walk out the cage door. Laurinaitis tried to stop him. Vince stopped Johnny. Vince opened the door for Cena. Johnny ran into Vince which slammed the cage door into Cena. Big Show went for the KO Punch, Cena ducked and he ended up knocking out ref Scott Armstrong. Big Show then hit the KO Punch on Cena. Instead of walking out of the cage, Show started walking around the ring yelling how great he was. Finally he decided to leave the cage but Brodus Clay came out with a steel chair to stop him. Then a string of geeks (Santino, A-Ry, woo woo guy, Kofi) came out to try and stop Show by climbing into the cage but Show knocked them all off. Finally Cena woke back up. He hit the AA but the ref was out. Cena tried to get out of the cage but Show stopped him. Cena climbed to the top of the cage. Laurinaitis tried to hit him with his crutch, but Brodus held Laurinaitis as Cena climbed out to win the match. Show crawled out the door but was too late. *1/2
- After the match, Cena got Laurinaitis and put him up on his shoulders. Vince came over and yelled "You're Fired" and then Cena hit an AA through the Spanish announce table on Laurinaitis to end the show.
- Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow will take place from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, New York. Confirmed for tonight’s show is the fallout from No Way Out with John Laurinaitis getting fired. Triple H is advertised to appear on tonight’s show.
WWE will be bringing back another Legend for tonight’s show to hype the 1,000th RAW in July. Last week’s Legend was Vader. It was previously announced that Grammy Award winner and former WrestleMania celebrity Cyndi Lauper will be guest hosting tonight’s show.
WWE is teasing the following for this week’s RAW:
