Sorry I can't help haha, but I am going to Montreal as well.
I'll be there early June.
Same as above, any good spots to hit up? Sneaker places? Cheap food places?
Are there any like cheap hotels/motels that I can stay at too?
The group I am going with are all college students, so we are piss poor.
I'll be there for like 3 days, so it won't be long term

I'm thinking about doing an "official Montreal Post".
For sneaker place: there's City Style on Ste-Catherine, Off The Hook, various Foot locker and Champs, KN Urban in Chinatown and Laval.
Good places to eat: I'd say Mister Steer, Belle Province, La Banquise near parc Lafontaine. Couple of fast foods in Centre Eaton if you need to eat quick
I don't know about hotel/motel.
Visit spots: check out Mont-Royal (the Belvedere, day or night, it's dope). Oratoire St-Joseph, if you're religious, it's the place to see. Go in the Old Port, it's "rustic" but don't pay for the horses, it a tourist catch

About clubs, like a said in a previous post: corner St-Laurent/Sherbrooke got a lot of "lounge" and bar. Couples of club on Ste-Catherine, Crescent, Peel.
You MUST go to a bar to watch a Canadiens' game
