I was like 12 when it came out so I wasn't really into the rap game like that yet. Would love to hear some who were describe what the general reception of the record was when it dropped.

That might have been true at first, but I bump this and Reasonable Doubt more than any other album. And I've had it for 10 years. I feel like the sentimental stuff would wear off.Originally Posted by dmbrhs

This. I do remember some mixed feeling about it, and even though it's a really good album, his death made it bigger than it actually wasOriginally Posted by FinallyFamous

this album was the catalyst in 'the source' losing all credibility on the west coast.
looking back on it now, though, if the focus had been on making a classic single album versus a double good album, that could have easily been accomplished. there are 12 solid tracks but the rest...not so much.
Talk about finishing an album strongOriginally Posted by PersiaFly

All of these are classics to me:
-Notorious Thugz
-What's Beef
-Ten Crack Commandments
-+@%%$% Bleed
-You're Nobody
-My Downfall
-Long Kiss
-Story to Tell
-Somebody's Gotta Die
-Last Day
-Going Back to Cali
-Hypnotize
-World is Filled
And these to me are not even arguable. There are like 5 more that are arguable.
When has anyone had that % of classics/smash hits? Hypnotize bangs to this day. Notorious Thugz is loved by white boys everywhere. That Downfall-You're Nobody-Long Kiss trio to close the album is just.
