What is Ft. Lauderdale Like?

Its very likely that I'll be movin' that way by the end of this year. Just curious as to what its like down there?

Is there much to do?

Are there lots of barbers around? Can I get my hair braided pretty often and easily?

Any CC's?

Are there many vinyl (music) shops? Comic shops? Guitar Shops? DJ equipment shops?

Whats the job market lookin' like down there?

Gas uber expensive?

Any museums?

Lots of venues for concerts?

Ummmm....I can' think of any more questions at the moment, but any answers at all are extremely appreciated.

Nothing like any of the big cities but there are events sporadically and If you live the party life your gold.

There is an awesome comic store in Sunrise called Tate's..actually I was just there a week ago.

Depends what industry your in. For a lot of industries you get paid more elsewhere, but I'm no expert.

What expensive? Right NOQ depending on where I go I can get gas anywhere from $ 2.31- @2.70

Any museums?

I believe so, more in Miami though which is only 30 minutes away.

Where are you moving from & what kind of work would you be doing if you were to move down there?

I lived in Broward Co. for bout a year & hated it. So. Florida just isn't for everybody.

Great vacation spot, not to live IMO

Nah. I've visited some times. Mostly the Miami area (summits).

since my first trip to Miami this summer... I've been back 5 times and it gets better every trip.

* Gas isn't as expensive as I thought it would be... its about the same as it is here in NC

* People are really nice in Ft Lauderdale compared to people in Miami.

* Its not far from Miami Beach at all.

* The weather is beautiful... everyday feels like paradise

* Women are wwwwwaaaaaayyy better lookin then I've seen in many other places.


The only thing I'm not familiar with is the everyday living as far as job markets and housing economics go. I'm really thinkin about making a move downthere to attend FAU but I gotta do some more research.
