My girlfriend and I are road tripping to Vancouver this weekend for our 3 year anniversary.  We plan on checking out Robson, Granville, and Gastown for food and shopping.  We also might check out Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  We also want to go clubbing Friday or Saturday, but I have no idea what club to go to.
questions:

Is the Capilano Suspension Bridge worth it?  I just didn't want to pay $30 to cross the bridge

What areas are good for nightlife and bars?  I was thinking Gastown for bar hopping and happy hour

What club should I go to this Friday or Saturday?

Any recommendations on a restaurant for our anniversary dinner?

Any other advice? Places to go, eat, visit?

Thanks NT for the advice!!!

Sushi is huge in Vancouver, Shabusen is very good. But also do yourself a favor and goto JapaDog http://www.japadog.com/en/

There is a lot of high end restaurant all over downtown. Have you ever been to WhiteSpot? It's a westcoast resturant, its pretty casual but good food and good price.

I am not a Sushi type dude.

I have to eat pizza whenever I visit any city. Any pizza spots I should try?

*Downtown is huge. Very huge. Lots of places to eat especially of the Asian variety.

*Many of the pizza shops downtown seem to use the same recipe because they all look identical when sitting under the hot lamp in the window.

*There are a LOT of Asians here. Wow, I was not expecting that at all. I think I saw more Asians than I did white people. But I can also count on one hand how many people here looked like me. Every one I did see felt the need to speak to me though. You know how that goes. LOL.

*The hotel is cool. Nothing special, I just sleep there.

*I am in the library now. 9 stories tall. 9 levels. I had to get a temporary library card so I could access the internet because the hotel is asking for $6 per 20 mins. I told the library folks I was in the city for a few months on business.

*Saw a man blatantly looking at porn on one of the computers. I wonder if that is legal here.

*Visited a place called "Granville Island." I was watching TV in my room and saw a "Tourism Channel" and I found this place. Had to take a water taxi to get there. Puts old Town Alexandria to shame. Granville = Mike Tyson in 1990. Old Town = Mike Tyson now. I took pictures but I didn't bring my transfer cord, but you can look at some pictures here - http://www.google.ca/imag...rce=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi

*Nightlife seems to be plentiful. Saw a lot when I was out watching UFC. Speaking of which....

*Rampage lost. But the bar that I went to was named "G-Sport." I was looking for it and I asked someone where it was, but I said, "Can you tell me where G-Spot is." They laughed, I wonder if it was a woman would I be in someone's jail right about now.

*There was this drunk lady sitting next to me at the bar that was so loud and obnoxious it was funny/sad. When she sat down next to me she told me, "I have to fight like them. I have cancer." I didn't know what to think. But she kept talking to me and kept yelling the following to the TV:
1. Go!
2. Yea!
3. Fight!
4. Are they f*cking or fighting?
5. What is this gay porn. (whenever they were on the ground)
Folks around were laughing at here and we eventually started baiting her into saying things by just saying them. A few times I said, "Go!" and she followed suit. LOL. It was fun(ny)

*Weather is ok. Rained yesterday (Sat), hasn't rained today yet. Cloudy and about mid-50s. Decent weather. One Tree Hill weather.

*Their subway system is very clean. No carpet on the trains, but that doesn't matter. Very clean. I guess that might be because "we" don't ride it. Just an assumption.

*Definitely had jet lag this morning. Woke up at 6 AM local time. Couldn't believe it was only 6 AM local time.
