UNC-Chapel Hill NTers or anyone from NC check in!

Yo, I'm thinking about going there next year. Can someone fill me in on the school? I'm visiting next week but I want to know stuff I wont see on atour. Whats the atmosphere like? I'm more worried about the student body.

Is it the traditional preppy boy frat school or are the people pretty diverse and open? Im from Memphis, TN and I was trying to go out of the South but itlooks like that didn't work out. Anyways, all help will be appreciated.

Oh and most important question...are there any REAL sneaker boutiques in or around Chapel Hill?

YO! I couldn't think of a better place to attend. It's a wonderful place. I suck +%# for not going. Not necessarily a regret but I found time to enjoythat campus. Been about 4 years since I was in the area so I'd rather someone closer to there NOW answer your questions. DF!!!

I don't go to carolina but i'm from chapel hill/ carrboro. I love it here, but of course i'm biased. unfortunately there's no sneaker boutiqueshere. there's frats, but it doesn't dominate the town or anything. having grown up here, chapel hill to me is probably different than what it will befor you, but i've met a lot of people who came here for school and really love it. I'm 22 and just moved back to town (after a few years in asheville),so even though i don't go to school there, most of my friends in town do/did go to carolina.

in general i would def. recommend coming here, but since i don't know you or what you're into i'm not sure what else to tell you.

oh damn, i almost forgot to say the girls here are definitely a plus. of course a lot of sorority girls if you dig that, but definitely not all the girls hereare like that, and in general there's just a lot of good looking girls here.
