U-N-I has put out some of the best music this year. Their sound is well-rounded and hard to put inside a box that classifies them as underground or mainstream.I am thoroughly impressed with the lyrics on tracks like "Return" feat. Talib Kweli off their "Before There Was Love" Mixtape with MickBoogie, "The Grudge," "My Life," "Voltron," "Black Sky," "Supreme".....pretty much the entire "A LoveSupreme" project with Ro Blvd and the mixtape. They know how to make songs and when to spit, and that's VERY important as an up-and-coming artist.
Their latest offering with Green Label Sound, "Land of the Kings," is nothing short of AMAZING...the live instruments on the production isincredible, and the lyrics are superb. I cannot wait to see the video for this song, or the video for "Pulp Fiction." "Hollywood Hiates" isvery creative and I really love and appreciate what this group is doing for Hip Hop and music on a whole. They're unsigned by choice and putting out betterproduct than everyone. U-N-I and Drake are the best artists out right now and I know we have not seen all what they can do yet. I'm very excited to seetheir growth as artists.
