If you adjust for inflation, $69.99 in 1996 is $102 in 2012.

and the cartridge adapter for the sega saturn is still kinda expensive now if you look lol

The cartridge era got very expensive. Ram was costly so when they started getting into the 32MB (not sure exact size) size games like super street fighter 2 on SNES, we were looking at $72 then. That was one of the big issues that pushed the cd based console market, besides the whole industry going that direction (besides Nintendo as usual), and graphics

Memories! Kids just don't have it the same. Games back then were made with fun and storylines in mind, not graphics and DLC.
