I am really frustrated at the term LOWBALL, I am always reading where people are saying do not lowball me, lowball offers will be ignored etc… What I don’t understand is if you are offered more than what you paid for an item how can it be lowballing? Remember there is only one purchase that you can ever make in life that you can hope to gain substantial revenue on and that is property i.e. land and houses. Wait, maybe it could be you don’t want less than the market value of a shoe, I can understand that if you can explain to me what the market value is and how it is configured. A lot of times people look at ebay and the marketplace on the sneaker forums like %***##$$$$#@@ and Niketalk and see what the prices are and say that’s the market value. Truth is a lot of times the buy now price is never met and you see the same posting month after month. That is not the market value.

The biggest thing that bugs me is how you can ask for above retail on a shoe that has been worn and call it vvvnds, this is a myth that really needs to stop. There are only two categories when it comes to anything and they are new and used. Who in the hell came up with all these sub categories? Well I know some people may say that, “I would be stupid for selling for less than what others are selling their stuff for

stuff is only worth what people willing to pay, south beachs retailed for $160, now they are "valued" 800+

would i pay that? nope, i didnt want to pay the OG retail and passed because i couldnt get a discount.

someone would gladly pay 800+

it comes down to what you think its worth, shoot the offer even if its a "lowball" people these days think they can get rich off sneakers, it doesnt work that way.

due to the re-selling market on these popular shoes, it has created this "sub-market" where people loose the plot and automatically think their shoes are worth thousands of $$$

I have some OG jordans (popular models too) but i wouldnt dare try and sell them for what i paid for them 16-17 yrs ago ! if someone made me an offer, that would be a different story, but i wouldnt be arogant enough to expect $300-500 for them.

these people need to go get real jobs FFS

mate, you made some really valid points and i couldnt agree more on these points you mentioned. There is a sucker born every minute.
As with all the massive retro-ing from JB over the last few yrs, is it really worthwhile to stock shoes in hope of selling them down the track ? not really.

if one offers substantially less than what the market commands,
then it is called lowballing

it has nothing to do with the original retail price

Looking at some of the remarks thus far helps me realize why the culture has went to crap. To tell someone to, "get their bread up" is a statement of ignorance. I assure you money is not the issue sir 160jordansdeep. People this is not a rant it is a discussion that should strike some intelligent thoughts on the topic.

Elcerrito91,
I am definitely not new to this culture sir, I have been around doing this for a minute now. Evidently you could not comprehend my post and therefore were unable to make a intelligent response based on that. I will give you something that will help you get through life alot easier; look /listen, comprehend, think, respond if you apply these steps to life you will succeed. You missed the boat on your response period!

If you have a pair of limited/in demand shoes that people are willing to pay X amount of dollars for you would be a fool to sell it for substantially less than current market price. Its supply vs. demand. Nothing else. If there is less of an item than the number of people who want that item; prices will ALWAYS rise. And continue to rise unless peoples intrest ceases (not likely if the item is limited to begin with) or someone discovers a warehouse with a bunch of old stock (also not likely, but it has happened).

You see this in any kind of colectible market. Take for example the 87 Buick GNX compared to the 87 Buick Grand National. Two nearly identical cars with the exception of a ceramic turbo, fender accents, and modified suspension, But a GN with less than 10k miles averages about $20,000 whereas a GNX with unders 10k miles will take in almost $100,000. The incredible demand is due to the GNX being limited to less than 600 units and the fact that the car was a collaboration (sound familiar ie UNDFTD x Jordan & Supreme x Nike) between ASC McLaren and General Motors.

People need to quit getting so butt sore when they want something that they cant afford. Either save your money and buy it when you can afford to do so, or spend less money on a less desirable items.
