Check this out:

we leave the Wildcard, Divisional games alone BUT

Best of 3 Conference Championship Series!

Format: 1-1-1 or 1-2
Field Advantage: Higher Seed.
Scheduling Example: Game 1 on a Sunday, Game 2 on the next Saturday and Game 3 (if necessary) on the next Friday night.

Notable changes: 1. Start regular season a week early.

Pros:
Assurance that the BEST team will be in the Super Bowl.
Tension, hypeness of that of a NBA/MLB series.

Cons:
Too many games.
Dragging out the Post-Season (i.e. NBA Playoffs).

just my idea guys, maybe something they could consider if no 18 game season (which I'm against of).

football is too physical to play that many post season games in addition to the regular season schedule

Football was never meant to be played in "Series", you asking for the average NFL career to last 2 seasons with that....

So you are talking about a multi-game series to reach the championship but you only get one shot to win it all??? FAIL.  Your idea sucks and the logic behind it is terrible.

If you change the format for the conference championship "to have assurance that the best team is in the SB," then you're going to need to do it for the SB also to negate "flukes."
