Rick Ross' line from Tears of Joy

"I want to walk in the image of Christ but that @&$&@ Vivica nice"

Ok it might be one of the realist lines in rap but this line gets me everytime. Whenever I want to do right by my parents/religion/family/friends something comes along to test albeit another girl, a big party or easy money.

What lines pull on your heart strings?

Yea yea I know wrong forum, damn. MODS may you move this to the music section.

Quick, duck down before people get on you about sections

.

But to answer your question ..

"I put my problems in a box beside my tightest rhymes,
under lock & key buried deep off in my mind
& when it gets too full and I can't close the lid
I spazz on my family and my closest friends"

BIG K.R.I.T. - "The Vent"

it bothers when the Gods, get to acting like the !$%$@%; guess ever team doesn't come complete with n#$@as like ours

Hit home for me 4 years ago when Obama was elected and i was fresh out of college and all my former college buddies started talking about N Word this and that about Obama. Opened my eyes up a lot.

I shivered ducked and avoided all the hanes crimes
history pains plugged in my short time
how you pass go if you cant even drive
living like a king but its all a lie
broke son, a poe boi, still tricking
even though you broke boi
tracked in a style u not a part
stop living fake if you at the start........of the game

One of the realest verses ever. Grandmaster Flash - The Message

A child is born with no state of mind
Blind to the ways of mankind
God is smiling on you but he's frowning too
Because only God knows what you’ll go through
You’ll grow in the ghetto, living second rate
And your eyes will sing a song of deep hate
The places you play and where you stay
Looks like one great big alley way
You'll admire all the number book takers
Thugs, pimps, pushers and the big money makers
Driving big cars, spending twenties and tens
And you wanna grow up to be just like them, huh,
Smugglers, scramblers, burglars, gamblers
Pickpockets, peddlers even panhandlers
You say: “I'm cool, I'm no fool!

"I need a new *+#%# for this black cloud to follow
Cause while it's over me it's too dark to see tomorrow"

not sure if Dom says it in a song but one of the best quotes, "Everybody wanna eat, don't nobody wanna cook." - Dom Kennedy

Life's a $#$+# but god forbid the $#$+# divorce me
I be flooded with ice so hell fire cant scorch me
and
Shorty's laugh was cold blooded as he spoke so foul
only twelve tryna tell me that he like my style

the last verse on one love>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Son, you bore me with ya war stories.

Rappers can't clap me
Jackers can't gat me
Original meaning of Jazzy Fat Nasty
I don't bite rapper's lines, I bite the captain's arm off
I don't throw shots in the air, I throw that Molotov
Cocktail, reservoir dog my collar off
Y'all scared to get that revolution popping off
You really got the guns you claim in the track
Then my question to you is who you aiming 'em at
You complain that the rap police caught you with a gat under the seat
Misdemeanored that twenty bag of weed
But little old me with the few facts that I speak
The homeland security gaffeled me over seas
Froze my bank account and seized my guarantee
And y'all are soundscanning like a hundred more than me
They kicking you off tour for freaking a chick or two
Verizon dissed me too cause I was too political
Y'all are all safe and #*$+, y'all are not saying #*$+
You just snap your fingers and dance and make your label rich
Gotta pay back that advance, so they ain't gave you #*$+
This is your chance to say something and you're wasting it
People are starving, you talking bout balling
Can't think of nothing more important than that jargon
Hundred different ways to describe diamonds sparkling
Eighty percent of kids are listening to y'all #*$+
I heard that statistic I almost cried
Never wanted so bad for 2pac to be alive
What the $#$# happened to rap when
The gangsters are scared of upsetting they industry masters
It ain't my place to say and I hear all that
But $#$# that, I live in the hood and we need y'all cats
So as soon as I hear y'al on some real pro black
Then I will gladly go back to my emo rap
They say the truth don't belong to nobody, if you see it you speak it
It would be a sin to keep it a secret
So if I need to breathe then believe that I mean it
Quit trying to be somebody's boss and be a leader
If it wasn't bad enough your labels are hoeing you
You can't even scan, your fans are downloading you
There's no connection, so they're not supporting you
You ain't never shed light on nothing that they're going through
We ain't buying CDs, we striving to live
And these artists don't need me they already rich
I ain't hating on you, rock them shines
Just remember us from time to time when you drop them lines
Rappers can't clap me
Jackers can't gat me
Original meaning of Jazzy Fat Nasty
Busy raising babies and living on tour
Signing off Brother Ali, sincerely yours
