The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

One sport specialization at early ages is a bigger contributing factor to injuries than the NBA schedule.

Young players are coming into the league with way more wear and tear than past generations.

If I have a son and he plays I won’t be letting him play spring + summer AAU ball in one calendar year. One or the other and the other season will be spent on conditioning, weight lifting and individuals.

I used to play co-rec soccer in Seattle on the parks department fields. This was during a transition period when they city was switching over the old, hard dirt fields to field turf. Those old fields would wreck your body and you could feel it the next day. People who grew up playing on those old fields are in serious pain these days compared to the younger generation that played on softer surfaces. I'm sure dedicating yourself to a hard court sport from Day 1 would have a similar effect.

Somewhat agree. But to be honest AAU games aren’t even that taxing nowadays. Glorified pick up games. These kids playing at half speed trying to get highlights.

If things continue to go well for Houston, wonder how many all stars we'll have.

Sengun is a given. I think Reed makes the 3 point shootout.
