The Official NBA Season Thread: Kings Fire Mike Brown

What has been exposed about Embiid exactly? He doesn't practice much cause his body can't really handle it. It's why he's out of shape, why he doesn't play every game, looks like he can't run etc.

I know everyone hates the guy but I don't get what's been exposed. here He's on the decline because of health, that's really it.
I mean it’s mainly his conditioning and him taking care of his body over the years. The fact that he chased the MVP in 22-23 only to breakdown was bad. Chasing the Olympic medal to come in this year already hurt was bad too. Nothing about his skill has been exposed. I’m more so talking about factors that are completely in his control though. His leadership just isn’t there when the guy who’s supposed to be his young boy is calling him out in front of the team this early in the season.

This is without even mentioning last year in the playoffs.

Embiid just in his villain era. He want a trade without asking for one.

Philly gon have 3 players to boo. Current record for most boo’d former players.

The issue with his leadership is he's not healthy enough to play or practice. Can't be a leader if you're not on the court. If you want to criticize him for chasing the Olympic medal or MVP, sure fine, I guess. But it's also pretty silly and only feeds into my point the issue is really his health, cause plenty of other guys do that and escape criticism cause their bodies aren't breaking down.

Honestly, the sixers are in an enviable position this year if they just tank out. They hit an absolute home run on the McCain pick. Backcourt of McCain/Maxey with a top three pick and Embiid/George next year will be a fun team.

People in San Antonio have been complaining about this from the jump but it's necessary. San Antonio in its current form isn't "metro" enough for a NBA team

Embiid was never better than Tatum,Tatum routinely outplays him in big spots in the playoffs h2h

I can’t even read the site on my phone for the last couple days on either Chrome or Safari. Refreshes twice and then crashes.

Ultimately, judging someones' leadership when they aren't in the locker-room and have no first hand knowledge of anything is just speculation. Embiid might have questionable rep as a teammate, but the same guys in here calling him out think Ben Simmons is the worst player of all-time (despite three all-star appearances, and an all-NBA team). Shaq did all of the same things Embiid is doing, Luka is fat and is never in-shape, same with Harden, Kyrie ruined a superteam cause he wouldn't get vaxxed etc.

You can pick-and-choose to build up and destroy any of these guys if you really want too.

Ultimately if Embiid could really play consistently no one would care if he was late cause when he's healthy, he's a probably a top five player. Problem is he's never healthy.

It was the same thing with Ben. He was a great player and a questionable teammate but none of it mattered cause he was amazing until the injuries. Then it's easy to pile on a guy for his perceived shortcomings.

Tearing him down for not being as good as Jokic? Okay, well Jokic is probably the best player since LeBron/Steph/KD, the fact that it was a comparison for a bit is credit to him.

You don’t have to be healthy to be on time to stuff. We aren’t that far removed from PJ Tucker cussing him out. And imagine had Ben not been more trash to cover up his trash against Atlanta.

Forget the Tatum comparisons, that Jokic debate was even wilder.
we don’t talk about that series lol

It’s a bit much of a young guy himself hurt to call out a veteran about being on time.

The Jokic debate came from his trainer, the national media and dudes on here making defensive claims that weren’t true.

His health is is health but we’ve seen him come up short in the playoffs when healthy. Top 5 talent but not a top 5 player

Embiid has been comparable if not better than Jokic in the playoffs in his career. How did you reach this conclusion?

Is it because Embiid catches more heat when Philly loses in the playoffs? If so then I agree he does catch more slander and that is my main problem.

Jokic is 21-27

Embiid 22-22

I looked up the numbers. This supports my point.

What has Jokic accomplished in the playoffs Embiid hasn't?

Embiid > Jokic

Embiid was still the right choice.

Jokic and Denver winning doesn’t change that

Tatum has never been as good as Embiid at his best. What are we talking about here. Look I don't like nothing about Embiid from a fan perspective but just a year ago today he was runaway early favorite for winning his 2nd back to back MVP before the injury. That's how dominant he was playing. Two different levels of talent
