That was a great watch. NBA Money Ball. Analytics winning. The point that Boston figured this out I agree with and unfortunately to beat them you might have to play the same way..
3s-15-45 =- 45 points on 33% shooting which is poor
2s- 20-40 = 40 points on 50% shooting which is great

So the numbers support you can win the game chucking bad 3s once you shoot enough of them.

I did disagree wirh the pick up ball point, maybe things changed but we wasn’t shooting 3s as much back then unless the guy was a 3 point shooter.

Currently across the league, teams are averaging 100 possessions per game.

basketball stats don’t happen in a vacuum and this doesn’t account for the fact that two point attempts probably yield more free throws, but folks are up in arms about a strategy that generally yields more points for teams?

Yeah mahn… it is what it is at this point.. NBA players and strategies have the 3 point line as the difference maker…

I think we all forgot the NBA did move the line up briefly in the mid 1990s to improve scoring. Scoring had dipped for about ten years straight. It was concerning the NBA greatly. The change helped immensely.

I think they’ve moved into 3rd behind the Celts and Cavs. It’s more because I don’t really like any other East teams rather than thinking the Bucks are really good. But Giannis is beasting and Dame still a threat to go off at any time, so that’s enough against most teams.

Knicks suck, but I have more faith in them than the Bucks in a playoff series bro.

Zion got his money and didn’t give af after. Funny thing is most of it wasn’t even warranted. He never deserved the Jordan contract and Pelicans were dumb for extending him. But NT thought his contract was well deserved. NTers are some of the worse GMs in all sports.

I remember when Adam Silver came in and everybody loved him cause the players could literally do whatever they wanted. Kornhieser always held firm that he had no backbone and it would eventually backfire on him. Which it has pretty much.

If the nba had a living, breathing commissioner is what he always says. Then they had Silver on the show and he said here I am living and breathing. Knew then we were doomed with that load management foolishness. Probably negotiated load mgmt with the same level of levity with the players association.
