The Official NBA Season Thread: Derrick Rose Day

  at no posts on the game that’s on. League hasn’t moved on from that crew. It wouldn’t make sense to when a lot of folks enjoy them.

ESPN brought them over.
I know. That was ESPN’s choice. The NBA gave the contract to a network they didn’t work for. They did move on from the TNT crew; Barkley in particular cried about it quite loudly.

cc DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican - ESPN threw them a bone in a lesser role. They’ll be out completely well before the next media deal ends.

And I don’t have any love for JJ Reddick, but I’ve been a saying the TNT crew wasn’t good about promoting the game for years before he did. Barkley going in on him just illustrates the problem; Chuck thinks he’s bigger than the NBA.

Inside NBA is an entertaining show with entertaining people on it and ultimately it does draw more people in, especially casuals.

They could still make a concise decision to be more positive about what they’re watching and not just **** on everything.

Orlovsky/Clark/Swagu etc don’t **** on their product. And they still have relatively entertaining arguments.

Yea but the NBA didn't move from THEM, they moved on from Zaslav.

That's like saying breaking up with a girl is separating from her mother. Nah that was just a casualty of the situation. If it was the NBA's choice, they would want Inside the NBA around.

You don't think they pushed ESPN to make that move?

No. I don’t think the NBA pushed for that move. But I don’t think they objected to it either.

NBA thrives off "hating". Just looked at the social media interactions

People were quick to hop on Jason McIntyre for his comments about them. He had some valid points.

Inside the NBA is the flagship NBA show. The general public all know Chuck/Kenny/Shaq/Ernie. It’s an extremely valuable product and I agree with DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican that the league probably did push for them to move over.

They could still be entertaining while promoting the actual product though. All it is.

Chuck even said the NBA product stinks in the little rant he had proving dude's original point. :smh:

Why is it far fetched to think the NBA influenced that side deal?
It’s not far fetched. I personally just don’t think that’s how it went down.

Just seems more plausible to me that, if the NBA felt that strongly about keeping the TNT in the fold, they would have done something about it earlier, rather than deciding not to give TNT the contract, getting sued and contesting the lawsuit and then backdoor orchestrating a deal between ESPN and those guys.

Well when one of the heads of "AOL/Time Warner" essentially disrespect the NBA what do you expect the league to do? As it shows, they can STILL have Inside the NBA without TNT.
