Movie Info

Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her 'out of control' 6 year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel's dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both. When a disturbing storybook called 'The Babadook' turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he's been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son's behaviour, is forced to medicate him. But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real. (C) IFC

I saw this on RT the other day and was shocked at the critic score. I'll see it off that fact alone. But yea the trailer didn't seem scary at all.

I guess I'll give this another go tonight. I got bored halfway through.

Just a little boy throwing a tantrum and an undersexed mom, but apparently there's more.

My coworker told me about this movie after he saw the title and laughed at it cause he pronounces it exactly how the title sounds, not how it's pronounced in the movie apparently. He decided to see it as a joke but said it was a great movie, I'm gonna have to check it out soon.

Film was decent.
I had heard so much about it before and was one of those films that I set such high expectations for, that when I finally saw it I was kinda disappointed.

Y'all the same fools who were scared to sleep after seeing Conjuring which was garbage lol no thanks.

Entertaining, and it's probably more scary to widowed single mothers, much like the Mist would be for single fathers.

Cut it off half way thru, movie is boring. Even saw the ghost and still wasn't scared or entertained.

Can't say I'm interested in seeing this. I'm a big horror movie fan, too. Doesn't look interesting or scary IMO

Scariest movie you've seen you say?

What had the title before you saw this OP??

The Woman in Black starring harry potter. srs. wasn't bloody, or anything, just built solid suspense. and it made for a great date movie, my girl's soul was shook the theater.

The Serpent and the Rainbow.

Tales from the Hood. yea i said it.

Night of the living dead, 1964 civil rights version. aka the original black and white.
