To me its inconsiderate because instead of letting that person know ahead so they can make other plans you leave them waiting. That's why I usually tend to double or triple book so if plan A falls through I still have other options, of course letting whoever I'm cancelling on know that we will have to reschedule.

I never just stop answering my phone and disappear.
