Update

Went to the concert and it turns out my tickets were fake

She was real cool about the situation and handled it way better than me. Told me not to worry about the situation and didn't seem upset in the slightest. I was way more disappointed and I don't even mess with Drake's music like that. Didn't get the yambs but just ate dinner at Katsuya and drank away. She said she had a good time regardless though. The mission continues.

after doing some NT detective work i find out they all have boyfriends

i just dont want to be that guy and be involved in unnecessary drama

are these girls just players tryna play me and their man or just sloots

the girls are pretty bad too and i can see myself being involved in a relationship with them but the fact they try to hide the fact they have a man bothers me

[COLOR=#red]Let me set the record straight about Greek orgs...I tell people all the time that frats/sorors are simply a microcosm or sampling of the the general population...it's just that when you are a clearly defined group it makes it easier to pin the bad qualities to them.

What I mean by that is in general there are cool laid back people, there are a-holes, there are power trippers, there are underachievers, there are confident peeps, there are insecure peeps....fraternities and sororities reflect what's out there in the general population it's just that when you meet an a-hole not in an org he/she is just an a-hole and it ends there...but when they're a Alpha/Omega/Kappa/Sigma/Iota and an a-hole then all of a sudden it's attributed to the organization. As is in life the bad apples become the representative of the orgs.

Yeah we have a process to get in...but guess what my dudes...mostly anything worthwhile has some type of process to become a part of to be a part of. It's a universal concept that pretty much says when there are benefits of doing something there has to be a selection process in order to do it because if not everybody would try to do it. Did you know that the entire first year at Texas A&M for an engineer student is basically a hazing session? They don't put their hands on you but they bombard the students with so much insanely difficult work that it weeds out the students who "don't have what it takes".

Most of y'all in here who look down on Greek life are doing exactly the same thing that y'all complain that the Greek letter orgs are doing Y'all say Greek org members are clowns because y'all perceive them as thinking they think the same of y'all. Hate to break it to you guys but jerks and a-holes come in infinite varieties.

Also y'all look at fraternities and sororities forms the lens of college life...I can tell you that it has more true meaning in the real world. The alliances and connections are real, and I have definitely benefited greatly because of it....thing is it's not my only alliance. I believe in having a vast amount of powerful networks...this is how I can successfully move to new places and hit the ground running. For example I just moved to Dallas and within one week I was in the loop with the movers and shakers and within arms reach with ones even higher up on the food chain. Within 5 years I'll be up there in the social/professional strata. These alliances aren't just African American, it's smart to diversify...for example the Texas A&M network is REAL.

The networking concept has nothing to do with age either...as young as 20 years old I was in Atlanta and was brought into the inner circle of NBA and overseas hoop players...no I wasn't the alpha dog but I was an alpha pup meaning they saw enough potential qualities in me to bring me in and show me the ropes of not just hoops but life in general. I was ALWAYS the youngest guy in the group but I was smart enough to align myself with them.

I hope I'm not being too preachy, I'm just dropping a few nuggets and trying to provide some perspective my dudes. There are cool frat members and there are corny frat members and most of the times they were like that before joining. That guy who stepped to ole dude in here talking about the chick needed an Alpha man, I can guarantee he was weak and corny before he joined...real dudes know that chicks choose and that you should never step to another dude on some s*** like that.

I don't think anyone doubts the benefits of Greek life. Both my parents are Greek and I talked to my dad extensively about his Kappa experience.

But there are plenty of folks, especially on campuses dominated by Greek life, who join for the wrong reasons and definitely act like they're better bc of letters. My UG wasn't like that so I rarely had any problem and generally no one cared about one's letters

Some people act like their better because of their letters yeah, but some people act like they're better because they are in shape, some people act like they're better because they look good, some people act like they're better because they have a nice ride, some people act like they're better because they pull more chicks, some people act like they're better because...the list goes on bro. Cockiness and arrogance is not an exclusive trait/quality of Greek letter orgs...just that when it happens to be a frat or soror that displays those traits it gets overblown and attributed to the particular organization.


There's some cocky mofos in this thread nobody seems to be bothered by it much, but I guarantee if it were a member of an org saying the same exact stuff the hate would be unreal. [/COLOR]
