supplies for customs: leather

i wanna do a pair of "real" customs, where I actually take the shoe apart, modify/replace panels, and then restitch it.
i was wonderin where yall get ur leather for this. i saw ppl put snakeskin and other stuff on they shoes, so where can i get some?
