Nike launches a new way to be able to pre-order some of the most coveted shoes!

What a great initiative that will serve the company as well as its loyal consumers ❤️

At last! and that way everyone will eat!

nope but I can appreciate good business decisions.

I grew up wearing Nike, competed wearing Nike, still love Nike to this day, what the brand represents and I want them to do well of course.
When they do, all of us here can benefit from it. It's great news for NTers and shoe fans will be the firsts to benefit from it!

Hate the resell market hype thing and all that comes with it, endless frustrating mornings fighting with bots or cancelled order after getting a W , too old and got better things to do than to camp out for 3 days in the snow, or taking L's, waiting 20 years for shoes they didn't produce in big enough numbers and not being able to enjoy them in the end because no avail vs people that sometimes don't even appreciate what they got. Y'all know the story. We've all been deeply deceived more than once by any of the aforementioned...and more.

This pretty much solves it if well implemented.

So yeah, I welcome the initiative!

But it’s not good cause they still made the shoe very limited. This only helps Nike cause now the shoe won’t rot on shelves. When they do a legit preorder that has an open window for everyone to be able to get one then it’ll be good.

I hope this will be available to Nike Canada as well. Good Idea. Saves trying to fight with the bots on release day!

That was my next question. So basically do you strike out 3 months in advance anyway?

For this one yea. It changed to reservations filled within like 10 mins and someone here said they couldn’t get through paying. This is just a sure fire way for Nike to pre sale with a final sale notice anything they aren’t confident will sell out.

Ahhh gotcha. Did they charge you already?

this changes nothing if they don’t change production numbers based off the preorders

it all depends on if the preorders will be capped at a certain quantity or by date

if it’s by date it could be smoove

It's interesting to me. I'm not sure when I would want it used.

Maybe for something like the Christmas Jordan 11 it would be good or a black friday or all star release.

ALD has done preorders and by the time I get the kicks six months later I'm like :ohwell: 🤷‍♂️

Excuse my skepticism, but It's this part that's potentially the problem.

I rarely do preorders of anything, but usually any preorder of things that "oversell" end up either being backordered for beyond the expected ship date, or preorders are only open for a certain window (like Aime Leon Dore). If "reservations are limited" means that it's within a time window, then that is great for everybody.

However, if it's a # of preorders per size, it's exactly the same as the panic (FCFS) releases we've grown accustomed to, except instead of shipping it out in a day, it'd be in a few months. So until they do time/duration windows, I call bulls**t.

from sneakernews:

''The new Nike SNKRS Reserve allows consumers to purchase shoes before they’re even made. This will ensure the brand manufactures the right amount of pairs and ensure efficiency regarding product manufacturing decisions. This deviates from the typical production protocol that includes a finite number of pairs that hit market.

...

This allows buyer to make their purchases on the spot without the hassle of entering raffles. This new system ensures anyone who wants to buy a pair will receive one, so long as they’re willing to wait for production and shipping. It’s not clear when buyers will receive product. Nike SNKRS Reserve is not to be confused with Jordan Reserve, which is a scheduled product restock of past releases.''

Look at how they did those Futures though earlier this month 😐 similar method but only a few hundred pairs.. hope they stick to what they say. This should’ve been the method from the get. Goodbye sales though 😂 it’s gonna be either pay the price or wait for second hand pairs to hit the market.
