As for Shop OS Life and Kicks Krew... does anyone have any personal shopping experience with them and can verify the product? Just went on both sites found a couple things i might want
I've had experience ordering twice from Shopmyoslife. Let me explain what happened and let u guys make your judgements. Before I get into my experience, I just want to say that when I first heard of them, I was a little skeptical. They have a LOT of current stuff for under retail, which is pretty unusual in the reselling industry; however, the more sought-after stuff is marked up, but not as much as other sites, I'll give 'em that. Anyways, after doing a little research, it seemed like they were solid. Plus, I never read one bad review about 'em. So I decided to pull the trigger.
First, I ordered a pair of Jordan 1 OG "Knicks", a size 10.5. They shipped quickly, if I remember right, double boxed and all that. But when I opened the package, the pair was a size 8.5 instead of a 10.5. I emailed them immediately and they said it was a mistake with mixing my order up with another person's order. They said they'd fix it by having them send me my pair, and me sending them their pair. They also said they'd refund me the cost of shipping for my troubles. I understood that with an up and coming business, which it seems they are, mistakes can happen sometimes. It sucked, don't get me wrong, but I wasn't super heated about it. The night that I opened that package and found the wrong size, they were having a small restock on their site; stuff like Area 72 Chuckposites, Air Force Maxes, Lebrons and a few other things. They let it be known that there would only be one size for each pair, and didn't list the sizes in advance; pretty much if it's your size, cool - if not, tough luck. Which is cool. This was a couple weeks after the release date and pairs were probably hard to find for a decent price. Anyways, I was able to get the pair of Area 72 Air Force Maxes (after they pushed back the release time for 2 hours or something like that - can't remember, it was a while ago) that happened to be in my size, 10.5. Well, my true size is 11, but I can fit a 10.5, so I was psyched. For the retail release, I actually tried to get that shoe and struck out (but was able to get 2 pairs of the Chuckposites... go figure), so I was glad to be able to get a pair in my size, for a fairly decent price ($250 shipped, i think). The next morning, I got an email from them, letting me know that the size 10.5 I ordered was now a size 10, which really sucked, because there's no way I could fit a 10. I decided to keep the shoe, because I figured I could flip it or trade it for a pair in my size. The shoes arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and were legit (same as the size 8.5 OG Knicks, btw), so that was good. But still, 2 mistakes on my first 2 orders? That's not too great. Anyways, a week or 2 later, my 10.5 OG Knicks had finally arrived. I let the box sit for a few days before opening it (I'd been getting a lot of shoes delivered the last few weeks, and just forgot about it), but one evening I noticed the box and decided to crack it open. What I saw next was so unbelievable, I had to literally blink my eyes several times to make sure I wasn't asleep or hallucinating; IT WAS ANOTHER 8.5!!! Now, keep in mind I had already sent back the size 8.5 that they originally sent me, but not fast enough to where they would've gotten the shoe and sent it back to me fast enough for this second pair to be the pair I sent back (confusing enough? lol). Don't ask me how the person who supposedly had gotten my size 10.5 instead of their 8.5 sent me an 8.5. Believe me, it was really confusing, odd, and upsetting. Of course, I emailed them immediately with a pretty scathing email. Now, I follow both of the main cats of OS Life on Twitter (both of whom seem like really cool cats); if I was a d-bag and really angry, I could've just went off on twitter, but that wasn't my intent. But I was definitely upset. I basically said it was unacceptable to do this to me TWICE, that it was the most ridiculous thing that had ever happened to me when buying shoes, that it was messed up, that they would be just as mad if it was them, yada yada yada. But mainly, I said if u guys can't handle your orders and are making this many mistakes, you either need to stop or hire more people. The next morning, I got an email from Eric, the owner. Basically, he said he totally agreed with what I was saying, that he was working to fix these problems, and that he was extremely sorry for what happened. Just off of the email alone, I felt he was being sincere. There wasn't any "quit crying" type emotions in his email, and to his credit, he emailed me the next morning (I had emailed him late at night, around 11 my time). Besides his apology, what he did next was really solid. Not only did he refund my payment ($210 shipped or something like that - again, it was a few weeks ago), but he also sent me out the size 10.5 I was supposed to get (which were also legit). Even though all that stuff that happened was pretty wack, what he did to make it right was above and beyond what other people would've done, even the biggest brands/stores.
Like I said, I follow both of them, and I really do think they are cool cats who just made a couple mistakes. I still have yet to see someone tweet them about issues they've had with them, and honestly, I didn't know if I should write this reply. But my obligation is to this community first and foremost. I'm not trying to diss them in any way, shape or form. Like I said, if that's what I wanted to do, I would've aired them out all over twitter and instagram and wherever else. All I'm doing is stating exactly what happened with my experiences with them, nothing less, nothing more. Whatever you take out of this is up to you.
Now, would I order from them again, after everything that happened, both good and bad? Yes, I would. Some might find that odd, but after the way they handled the mistakes, and the email Eric sent me, I truly believe it was a case of them being slammed with orders and maybe not having their system as fine-tuned as it needed to be. I don't know if it's 100% there yet, but I'm willing to give him another shot, based on what I think about the guy, and what I've heard about his business. The fact of the matter is that the shoes I've purchased from them were 100% authentic. I'd bet everything I owned on it. I don't know if anyone will ever go through what I went through again; hopefully not. But I think with the prices they offer, the great customer service, and the fact that I know they're selling legit items, it's worth giving a shot again. But that's just me. Only you can make your own decisions. One of the main reasons I decided to share this was because I truly believe that we need more of this (sharing experiences with online retailers, good or bad) and less keeping our experiences secret and letting people either miss out on good products or get got by shady businesses, when a simple post or video could've helped so much. I'm a huge proponent of video/text reviews; how else will we know what's up with a business unless people speak up and share their experiences?
Sorry for the long post, guys. I just wanted to be as thorough and as helpful as possible. Again, I'm not trying to diss them or recommend them. I'm just stating what happened in my experiences, and what I would do. If this helps one person, I'm glad I did it. Peace
EDIT: Here are pics of the Air Force Maxes;
