School me on Credit Cards

Teach me some tricks and things to do and what not to do. Pops wont let me get a credit card with him so he told me to get one on my own...
This is what i know

-Credit only goes up when you pay off month after month after month

-Dont spend anything that you cant pay off right away

-Paying minimum is bad and will pay alot more in the long run

-Credit will help you when buying a car/house/ etc.

Im going to the bank tomorrow so your help will be used

Thats pretty much it. Pay off your monthly balances in full and your credit score will increase. Your getting a credit card from the bank though?

Why won't your father cosign with you?  Why do you want/"need" a credit card?  How old are you and what is your income?

He will co sign if he needs to.. I want it because i need credit for my future.. and im 21and get about 1000 a month income
