What's up NT Fam,

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up while doing transaction on the Buy/Sell/ trade forum

I sold a pair of DS Jordan XI concords size 9.5 to someone the other day utilizing the Buy/Sell/trade forum. The buyer didn't provide me his NTer name but here's a timeline of events

Timeline of events

1/2/13 - I received payment on via paypal. sent email to buyer's paypal address to confirm the purchase and shipping address. I received response from the buyer confirming the paypal shipping address and purchased of jordan XI.

1/3/13 - The item was shipped via USPS with signature confirmation. Updated paypal and sent buyer the tracking info.

1/4/13 = This morning, I received an email from paypal indicating there has been a claimed place for an unauthorized transaction and there's a hold on the payment that I received. Emailed the buyer and have yet to received a response.

Here's his information and DON'T do business with him:

Names: Phillip Thomas & Latora Hooper
Shipping Address: 4614 Noel Ct, Rock Hill, SC 29732
Paypal Email Address: [email protected]
Alternate Email Address: [email protected]

I'll upload screenshots of the emails and other support documents once I get off work

So far I've gotten just one response from him. :rolleyes

I'll upload photos later tonight

why did you do business with someone supposedly from here that didnt give you his SN??

you've been here since 04' and you let this happen?

It could happen to anyone. Once someone puts a claim that it was unauthorized or item not as described. It'll go to resolution.

I have proof of shipping documents and emails from the buyer confirming the purchase

it can happen to ANYBODY who is thirsty. if a guy says he can't give up his SN then it's fishy to begin with. don't you think?

emails for proof wont do you any good. the only thing protecting you now would be tracking showing that it was delivered to the address in the payment.............if it was a covered transaction.

Two things happened here:

1. OP accepted a gift payment.
2. Buyer was not Paypal confirmed and/or OP shipped it to a non confirmed address.

Yup it was number 2
I hate to say it, but if you didn't have the seller protection, prolly slim chance to none of you getting the money. Kind of weird he just sent you the money without ever contacting you first about it. I'm guessing you just posted your paypal address in the listing.

:{ Hate to say it but sending to unconfirmed address is a huge no no

depending on what shipping co. you used and where it is you can try to have the package returned to you.

This is what you should be focused on OP. Call before USPS delivers the kicks which could be tomorrow.

I remember that one NTer almost scammed for South Beach 8s with one of those fake "you've got money" paypal emails he didn't check to see if the money was in his account and shipped but he called at got the package returned.

Like it was stated earlier being thirsty OR greedy will get you EVERY TIME..

man its one of these every other week, how do you not get SN 1ST? From now on people should start a thread in the Buy/Sell forum asking if buyers and sellers are legit and out of all the the thousands of NT'ers someone should be able to provide good or bad feedback almost like Ebay... smh you gone learn :{

Thanks guys for the advice

If I got scammed then so be it. Just wanted to give the rest of the NT Fam a heads up

still file your claim w/ paypal. if anything it will at least be a mark on that pp account and if they see its a problematic acct they will shut it down. you can also try calling pp up and explaining your situation, they might work with you. i know the agents have access to what they call courtesy credits, where they have discretion to give money back to members if they feel its warranted.

Don't even see how that's possible since people who ship shoes with USPS log into Paypal to use the funds from the shoes to print the shipping label.
