i want to sidestep it, but i'm not really sure how...

havent been asked "do you like me" in some years... its either never said, or i just say "i'm not even trying to go there with you"

but this chick... i dont like her... but she's fragile-minded... and if i break it down like that, it might be a wrap...

She's insecure. She asked you if you like her too. She needs you to validate her in some way.
If you say, "I don't just like you, I love you," you've already given her what she needs. Plus you are being dishonest and playing with her emotions.

Tease her instead. Keep it playful though. That way she won't be able to read you and will have to continue in her pursuit.
