Hi,

I'm prepping these foams (my first prep/custom) for paint and I can't seem to find any kind of tape that sticks to the eyelet area. I was able to use painters tape for the sole but nothing; not even duck tape will stick to the eyelet area. Anyone have any experience with prepping that area?
Thanks

Just be carefull around the eyelids. I don't know a certain tape for it. I don't tape my shoes except when I am trying to make a straight line, like on 2 color midsoles.

You can try using a LIQUID FRISKET MASK, you apply it to the area you want to be covered and once you are done you simply rub off the frisket exposing the untouched area!!

my trick is to stuff the shoe with paper. giving the masking tape a base to actually stick on. then just build the masking tape onto itself. then i wear a glove and just push down on the area i need covered while i spray. it's a ***** but works fine. i did the same custom job and fell in love with the thermals all over.
