hey I want to start a custom project soon and was just wondering what set of paint brushes is good enough to draw logos and basically be accurate like a pencil? Being that im a beginner I wont try anything too complicated that involves shading and other complex art techniques but id like to be able to draw logos that have accurate lines(not sloppy) and words preferably without using stencils. Will the art kit on angelusdirect.com suffice? or will I need better brushes? Also, how do I use and wash the brushes to maintain them so they don't grow old fast and become useless? Since I didn't begin yet these are more than enough questions :lol but once I do id also like to know how to mix paint to get the exact color I want but ill save that for when I begin the painting. Any answers are appreciated, thanks guys.

What medium you use will determine the brush.
Like are you using oil paint or acrylic? Or ink?

Japanese brushes are amazing for getting straight lines.

Brushes, surprisingly, can get extremely expensive. Especially for oils.
They use rare animal hair in some. You can tell an xpensive brush if u dip it in water, flick it, and the tip comes to a needle like point and not frayed.

To clean a brush you need to get these little clear jars they sell at art supply stores.
They have a big spring in them. U put baby oil, mineral spirits or both in it depending on the medium u use.

Mixing color is just something you have to learn on your own.
Always use a pallet knife if you mix oils. But mixing colors is like a craft within itself.

I would suggest going to an art store (not michaels or hobby lobby) and just tell them wat u got goin on.
If you pick your medium i can tell you more about it/wat brushes etc.

I'm going to be using angelus paint for my sneakers. This is paint to paint leather and is what most sneaker customizers use. As for the mixing paint, I understand it's complicated but I wanted to know what will make a color lighter, darker etc.

you dont need super expensive brushes but you dont want trash either, get a decent set at a hobby shop or craft store and just make sure that when you paint your shoes you do light coats so that it will not crack and also it will not show brush strokes either when you do light coats. White makes any color lighter and black makes them darker its that easy and get a cheap set of paint containers so that when you mix your paint you have it seperate from the bottle and you will also have extra of it for touch ups later. Its also a good idea to make more than you think you will need for future touch ups and with the storage bottles you will always have the exact color match, also get the duller they offer because the paint itself is shiny (unless you want it shiny).Take your time and have fun!
