I’m thinking yes. This was a move made to guarantee we have DLine depth for these last two games. Is it necessary? Who knows, but better safe than sorry.

the only person making excuses is you. the fact that you can’t see that is telling. Purdys sample size is big enough to show that he’s better than good most of the time. Trey had a shot, didn’t play well. he showed flashes but ultimately looked underdeveloped. facts are facts. the fact that he’s a third string lets you k on he ain’t ready to take a starter roll. Purdy came out hot and has lead us to the #1 seed yet you continue to only focus on the 4 games he’s lost.

Actively rooting for Purdy to lose at this point in the season when we’re #1 cements not just your idiocy, but also exposes yourself as not being a 49er Faithful. Just follow your boy Trey out, leave the building and don’t ever come back. Simple.

he got a shot played mediocre and got hurt. the best ability is availability. it sucks, i didn’t want to see him go, but he was out playing jimmy, he wasn’t gonna out play purdy

What blows my mind with all that Trey talk is how teams like the Falcons and Commanders, and any team with question marks at qb for that matter didn’t so much as even kick the tires on Trey Lance when he could’ve been had for a 4th round pick.
Trey Lance couldn’t have been any worse than Ridder and Heineken for Atlanta and at least you’re getting all types of upside with him and you’re not really expected to contend either way.
There’s no guarantee he would’ve been their answer. But it was such a low risk, high reward move. He’s never had any type of character issues, seems to still be viewed fondly by his former 49ers teammates to where’s these no issues on that end.
Like these scouts and gm’s must really think he’s *** to where the only team who showed any type of real interest in him was a team who is already set at qb and was fine relegating him to the 3rd string role. And scouts and gm’s get it wrong plenty of times. But a guy barely 2 years removed from being the 3rd overall pick who hasn’t even had a chance to stink it up on the field like how a Zach Wilson did. Especially with no off the field incidents or track record of being a bad teammate. Blows my mind there was minimal interest there.

The thing is, we weren’t even expecting a 4th for him. Jerry just said “We’ll give you a 4th” and Lynch said “Deal!”
When it was made public Purdy was QB1 nobody expected anything higher than a 6th, maybe 5th, rounder for Trey. That’s pretty wild of Jerry to trade a 4th for QB3.
