Vividly remember STL tying and stealing one vs. San Fran in 2012. Can't underestimate any opponent in the NFL, especially within the division.

That ugly tie. I was at espn zone when it happened. David Akers blew it twice that day. Alex Smith got hurt in the first half and Kap took over. He was shook, fumbles and other miscues galore.

Pcox is playing himself right off the team for next year. Dude is having a career year and somebody will overpay for him.
49ers: Perrish Cox continues to impress
If you were going to hand out a team MVP award after the first five weeks of the season in San Francisco one of the leading candidates would be cornerback Perrish Cox.

Cox, who had been released by the 49ers during the middle of last season (and again late by Seattle) before being brought back by San Francisco in the postseason, has stepped in admirably at left cornerback after Tramaine Brockinjured his toe in the first quarter of the 49ers season opener in Dallas.

Since moving into the starting lineup, Cox has earned a +5.8  overall grade which ranks fifth among cornerbacks, and his 28.6 passer rating allowed is tops in the league.

Cox has made game-clinching interceptions in back-to-back weeks, and his three picks are tied for the league lead. In addition, he is allowing just a 46.7% catch rate when targeted.

With Brock scheduled to return to health in the next few weeks, the 49ers will have a decision to make in the secondary.

Brock is ruled out for Monday :smh:

I doubt he goes against Denver too and we could definitely use him for that game.

Akers' year took such a nose dive after the opener at GB where he made that 60+ yard field goal. I want to say it was 63 yards but I could be wrong.

It was, he tied the record. I believe he had a pelvis injury that season. Didn't really help that the Niners offense was horrible at scoring

I think he was battling a hernia. With that said he still almost blew it against ATL with his clanger and the missed chippy in the super bowl that he got lucky they called running into the kicker.
