yes i am mad.

Linesmen can call that play if I'm not mistaken.

Really? I heard the exact opposite, that even if the linesmen saw what happened he can't call it.
I could be wrong, but that's what I heard. It would be nice to figure out the correct ruling on that

I'm a Devils fan but it's true.  The parity in the NHL is at an all time high, I could see any team winning the Cup.

I've seen instances when the referee refers to the linesmen on "too many men on the ice" calls.
And yeah, it would be nice to see what the proper protocol for that kind of play is.

I would be pretty depressed if the rangers don't at least get passed the first two rounds. But I know it can easily happen so I'm not getting my hopes up. I just feel like you gotta go into the playoffs with low expectations or it can suck

From the NHL's website rule book:

56.3 Bench Minor Penalty - A bench minor penalty shall be imposed when an unidentifiable player on the players’ bench or penalty bench or any Coach or non-playing Club personnel who, by means of his stick or his body, interferes with the movements of the puck or any opponent on the ice during the progress of the play.

I would assume that because it is a penalty it is up to the referee to make the call

at the end of that section theres an addendum that says that further discipline in those cases is possible, at the discretion of the league (i can dig it up, but lazy...seen it at other sites)...that said, highly doubtful he gets suspended. but the refs shouldnt work a game in the playoffs, and i would be shocked if saturday's game isnt chippier than usual

Tortorella should keep his mouth shut sometimes. It's past the point of being a fiery coach.... now it just looks foolish and unprofessional.

Torts was fined 20K, and yet, Orpik received no supplemental discipline from the league office.

Anybody excited for the BC vs. Ferris State game tomorrow?

Go Eagles!
Tommy Cross's last game as an Eagle.

Anybody notice the new Bruin Defenseman Torey Krug? I think the kid is legit but I feel he could be the next Matt Hunwick which I absolutely do not want! Also, he is now wearing Steve Kampfer's old number and I see lots of similarities in his game with Steve's. Small, puck-moving defenseman wearing the same number. Both went to school in Michigan. It's like a carbon copy of Kampfer but only he has a left shot. I think that is the only thing that the Bruins are lacking from the back end is a good puck-moving defenseman that will secure the puck and start the rush. I know the Bruins play a more defensive style but the defense corps are all defensive-minded. Chara is a bruiser, Boychuk is a bruiser, Seidenberg plays a physical game, Ference is average when it comes to moving the puck, McQuaid is a bruiser, Zanon blocks shots and Corvo is

He has good hockey sense, plays his position right and makes a good first pass to start the break. His first point came from getting the puck up to Lucic and then Krejci dropping it back to him for the snipe.

If Torey is all that and a bag of chips, I don't see Tommy playing in the pros anytime soon. I saw him play about a month ago against Providence and he was really good for the first two periods. Quick wrist shot top shelf for the goal. Once the third period came, he started slacking and couldn't get the puck out of the zone. I knew it and York knew it and he was benched for a good 5 minutes or something. Either way, I forgot about him and it was Dumoulin taking his spot. He's a good leader and all but that's not going to cut if he wants to take the next step towards his career.

krug's looked alright to me...i think as a third pair guy he's been fine. khudobin had me

last night. i realize it was one game and it was the sens...but even when making the "highlight" reel type saves, he looked in control of his body. he wasn't sliding 40 feet out of the crease. it was refreshing to see. pretty athletic guy from what i could see.

Pens have a bullseye on there back every night... not winnin

We will beat philly tho... in 6

Random question....

How many seats does JL Arena have? I was wondering why the Pistons don't play there? I think the Palace is like 35 miles outside of the city.

Wait, what???!!!???

That was a BLATANT knee-to-knee hit on Stepan.  Thought he'd get a fine at the least.  Unreal.

As bad as it sounds, I wouldn't be surprised if a goon like Tom Sesito takes liberties on either Malkin or Crosby.

I kinda like the Pens being 'the bad guys', I think Kid and Geno thrive off that. Not sure if MAF does though
