Messi scored 20 goals and had 16 assists in 19 matches.
For comparison, MLS top scorer Christian Benteke had 23 goals in 30 matches. Luciano Acosta led in assists with 20 in 32 matches.
Messi deserves MVP by my estimation.

If washing the league having only played 50% of the matches and bringing in the most money and viewership isn’t an indication of being valuable, then I don’t know what is.

Messi is the best player. Bar none. Not even close. The word "Valuable" is being diminished though - Acosta and Evander were wayyyy more valuable to their teams than Messi is to Miami. Those 2 also had a lot less to work with than Mr Messi does.
That said, yes, Messi is the best player and deserves the award if for no other reason than being the most valuable asset to the MLS (in history). Now get him on the pitch for 75% of games next year.

Doubt that. He is actually super excited to get him back and declared him the starter for the game after tomorrow which he hasn’t done for anyone else. Araujo is demanding a lot of money but with Cubarsi being a monster that high wage is better left saved for an offensive star (leao)

At least we compete for major trophies year after year. Now we’re doing it with a new manager when all of you thought we’d barely be fighting for a top 4 spot.
Meanwhile, your club has been lost for over a decade. You better hope this new guy pans out. He’s your 7th manager since SAF retired and I’m not even counting the caretakers.
