crazy that this is our first time selling over 100m in a window. we're probably the worst big club at selling

We also have sold for over 100, and are bringing in Iker Bravo into our system, the most talented u-18 Spanish striker apparently, who recently left Barca's academy.

They also bought for over a 100 I think, which makes rejecting this make less sense, **** they could sign Depay for cheap
Playing hardball to the extreme like that might hurt them in the long run tbh. They've been known as a good club to make a name for yourself in Europe before moving on to the continental giants.

Young players might start thinking twice about heading there over maybe a Dortmund or France if they start pricing out their stars out of big moves even when getting offered absurd money.

Feels like some stubborn pride **** more than anything now after getting raided for their manager and half the squad already. Financially I don't get how they'd ever turn down 80/90m when they'll probably never get offered those sums ever again.

They do Sau Paulo 20% of any sell, they probably want y'all to cover that

That would still leave 70m for a player really worth maybe 20m less . Really starting to think it's a matter of pride more than anything at this point.

Not sure what else would explain the stubbornness when they're getting objectively silly money and the player's actively holding out/skipping training and games to force a move.

How good is Antony anyway? Never seen this dude play lowkey don’t even remember hearing about him till united where in for him

He’ll get a hero’s welcome, but Sporting has as much chance at winning the CL as ManU does .
Don't think it's about winning another CL tbh

Been a humbling summer with none of the actual contenders being interested so think he just wants to go somewhere he can build on his CL legacy and continue scoring loads of goals.

100% feel this is on his mind

Just never thought he'd opt to go home at this stage when he probably feels he's got enough juice for a few more seasons in the top European leagues.

The situation at United with probably not being willing to be rotated like the manager will like probably made him re-evaluate. It was a big power move benching him and Maguire for the Liverpool match and it didn't work out in his favor.

His people are doing everything they can to get him his move. Don't think it'll be in their favor forcing him to stick around unhappy

Man CR don’t care about group stage goals record to drag this out this much

I’m not sure what the objective at this point is though. It’s sad and also strange seeing this all happen to him though, he had a solid season last year. Either way this situation has been a huge L for him and super agent Mendes. They need to just beg Flo to return on low wages and a backup striker role. Or take the bag from Saudi Arabia. I don’t see the point in playing for Sporting. I also think stock exchange United won’t let go of him for a fee anyone would be realistically willing to pay. So I think he’s stuck.

They won't let him go because there's no legit offers outside of Saudi , also makes no sense buying him out (paying him to play eslewhere) only to have join a Chelsea or something for free...

Already been reported that the manager would be fine letting him go since he's going for something different in attack

leicester should have alread lined up a deal for lacroix from wolfsburg to replace fofana. if so, they'll be just fine in that position

French journos saying that with bonuses it'll be a world record fee for a defender

Leicester are so good at this man...

They could've squeezed much more for Kante though years back but overall they're some of the best in Europe at getting top value for their talent

The draw of United is HUGE!

Leaving Ajax and CL football for a relegation battle in the EPL. Imagine if we had competent owners!!!!

Yeah Ajax needs to go ahead and take the 90m. They probably saw how much Grealish went for and are confusing which Manchester is bidding for Antony.
