OFFICIAL BEATMAKING / PRODUCTION THREAD Vol. New NT

it seems to me most of yall are working with cracked sotfware and a controller..

not knocking that at all

im a dusty hardware kind of dude,

i can make those things too but im just too weird and over think everything in terms of equipment, i dont even use my moog in the conventional way.

i run my turntable thru it
wink.gif

i then chop the samples and play them on the moog keys.

have tons of records too.

this is the only thing i have ever put on the net, this was like 09..

https://myspace.com/theelectrifyingdeathdefyi/music/songs

this was just mpc 1000 and a youtube sample, i just plugged the outs into the mic in on my crappy laptop i had.

If I hear correctly, that's the Do It Vocal Sample that used to be all in the Cash Money beats right

Are you just using the one from the Johnny Juliano Ramen Kit or do you have the acapella version of that vox (the johnny juliano version has like a snare or clap or something attached to it)

If you got the acapella version, Please Make sure to help a brother out

Worst beat ive ever heard but his key game is amazing. I haz confuse.

Happens all the time...you can be killer on the keys and just not have that bounce when it comes to drums...vice versa with cats who can come up with crazy drum patterns but when its time to put something on top of it its :rolleyes

a lot of dudes who can play "overplay". trying to be all fancy like they not making hiphop beats :lol

and them dudes who nice wit drums need to do melodies first. its harder to fit a melody to drums than it is the other way around

1. How do I track/map a song out? As in after I make the piano rolls how to I include/exclude certain sounds at a certain part

2. How do I record separate parts? Like I want to play out the 808 hits, then I want to add a synth but I want to play the synth while the 808 is hitting but had previously recorded the 808, just layering the synth on the 808?

3. How do you layer/stack?

4. How do I make a beat, send it to an artist, they record their vocals and I mix/master a finished version?

Sorry it's a lot

Ight, I'm just gonna tell you go to youtube and type in the versino of FL you got and what type of music you want to make on the end because giving a detailed response would more than likely create more problems then solve them.

I did it, dudes that explain are just too boring and drawn out

Get your attention span up then, seeing it visually being done will help more I think. Also just fiddle around with the program, you find out a lot of cool stuff just doing that.

On the part on getting your beats out to artist, it's pretty much networking and acquiring the emails.

Anything worth learning takes time. Extend that attention span.

Wow, this reminds me of all the dudes that ask where DA beats at? When they see my mpc..

They think that you just press play on the machine and chief keef beats come out it.

But yeah I notice that a lot of younger dudes don't have the attention span and want instant gratification, dude wants you to sum up something that takes years to learn in half a sentence, because its boring to watch YouTube tutorials..

its the reason the game is oversaturated right now. dudes think they can just hop into producing for some quick money without learning anything. but thats all thanks to trap beats. they dont wanna learn any theory or composition. just wanna emulate what they hear on radio and make cash off it. imo, if u dont have a passion for creating music...stay the f*** out the paint and stick to selling to soundclick and local artists. leave the big fish to the rest of us....

there's just something dope about chopping records up, put this together in about 15 mins, just a rough draft, sorry for crappy sound.

You have some nice equipment bruh. I'm convinced I need some outside equipment instead of just a mouse now, everything I really like produced from people is usually made with outside equipment. Once that bassline gets cracking on that sample too. :hat IDK about anyone else but the bassline brings songs together a lot for me.

the thing with equipment is that you never know how it will work with the rest of your setup unless you bring it home,

i mean i know about what i need but even i goof up, im now going to send the prophet back..

it just doesnt sound natural and fit in with my other things, im going to exchange it for a nice mixer since i dont have one and im always unplugging ish.

something i'd recommend for samples is something like an sp 404 or 303 just to get started.

then move up to an mpc, stay away from 2000's and the xls the screens go bad.

the 60 and 3000 are worshipped but are just too old and most need floppies and zip drives,

the 1000's are good but the first models, the blue and red ones have sensors that go bad, which is not a big deal, its a cheap replacement.

theres also the asr 10 which also needs disks and the stock memory is 2mb..

just remember when you got this route you have to take cables into consideration and the fact that they take up space.

an expensive turntable isnt necessary for a minute i just used a cheapo ion i got for 60 bux.

its just best to keep it simple, the best stuff i make is just with my records and the mpc.

Nice remix. D deleted all your beats give me a nostalgic vibe which is dope. :smokin

Those are nice, they just take a min to load for me, but from what I could hear. :smokin stewrat stewrat

Thanks for the advice. rustlenomics rustlenomics I more than likely will just get a Maschine with a good keyboard and great computer and maybe a mixer in the future. I just like fooling around on equipment b/c it seems easier to get out an idea, record, then save for later. All I do now is click, click, and click, til my hearts content. :lol

New beat, still need to improve.
