OFFICIAL 2014 FANTASY BASEBALL THREAD

I give
P.Goldschmidt
B.Lawire
Jacoby

I get
P. Sandoval
Y. Puig
M. Buehrle

My other 1B are Ortiz and Texiera...feel like I'm taking a risk letting go of Jacoby and taking on Panda. I need another SP tho..

Any thoughts?

hell no

^Yeah, don't do it.

I was really disappointed with Encarnacion early on but wow. Dude is on fire.

Lol I feel like crying for trading away my Nelson Cruz for his Desmond Jennings before the season started in one of my leagues but I kind of needed more speed. I'm doing ok in both of my leagues so far. I still don't regret trading away Tulo. Still sense a injury is coming sooner or later during the season.

need a bat - been offered Adam Jones, Lucroy and Chris Sale for Yadier Molina, Chapman and Darvish. Yay or nay?

Don't just look at names.

when you look at the numbers it's a very fair trade and I don't value closers high.

Molina and Lucroy are 1 & 2 in catcher rankings, Jones is a top 10 OF, and Sale is right below Darvish. I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger, and a bunch of "fantasy experts" are agreeing with me on twitter

The Orioles are considered the leader for Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija, according to CBSChicago.com.

The two sides have mutual interest in a deal. Baltimore would acquire Samardzija, who is under team control through next season. The Cubs are scouting the Orioles top pitching prospects, including Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy. Samardzija has done everything possible to boost his trade value. Through 75 innings, he has a 1.68 ERA.

Pulled the trigger on this trade. No regrets!

I mean Pablo is getting hot, Puig will have a beast of a year and Buehrle is looking like his old old self...

Wasn't fond of Elsbury, just feel like he's going to be average, Brett will probably hit 20hrs but that AVG was killing me :{

I think I'll be ok in the end

Got offered this earlier
I give
Tulo
Gardner

I get
S. Castro
Manny M.
J. Weaver

Should I ask for A Goz instead of Manny? Or would that be asking for too much....My other SS is Andrus

Only reason I'm considering trading Tulo is cause he's somewhat injury prone

I would not do that deal. Tulo may be injury prone but you don't know what you will get out of Machado this year and Castro is average. Weaver is nice but you are giving up Gardner also. I personally don't like the deal.

If you had too chose, who would you rather own for this year, Michael Bourn or David Murphy?

^Murphy.

I give Stanton for Tanaka? My other outfielders are Springer, Gomez, Choo, Braun and Myers. My main pitchers are Verlander, A. Sanchez and G.Cole.

Your outfield is stacked so you could possibily do that deal but I wouldn't. I would try to give up Choo for a pitcher rather than Stanton and see what I could find.

I'm in 3rd place so I/m not in a rush for any deals so I'm holding onto Stanton.

Looks like Tavares is getting recalled. Should be added if you have the space.

Who would you guys rather have going forward? Polanco or Taveras?

hmmm

I'd probably go with Taveras since he's already here and producing now. There is no guarantee when Polanco comes up and what he will do, just speculation

jon singleton has been called up by the astros. what should we expect from this guy?

According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Astros have signed top first base prospect Jonathan Singleton to a five-year contract with three club options.

The historic deal -- a first for a player with zero major league service time -- carries $10 million in guaranteed money and can be worth up to $35 million if all the options and incentives are triggered. Singleton, 22, will be promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City before Tuesday's game against the Angels to take over as Houston's regular first baseman. He was sporting a .941 OPS, 14 home runs, and 43 RBI in 54 games this season at Triple-A and should be owned in all mixed fantasy leagues.

go pick him up asap

bravo to the astros calling up their studs, more teams need to follow this path

im a bit hesitant to jump on the singleton wagon. 267 avg in the minors with 14hrs in 50 or so games. dude just seems like a big bat and nothing else. id rather stash polanco then rush to add someone like him. 1st base is too deep.

kudos to the astros calling their guys up but he's locked up already, no real need to keep him down for contract purposes

Picked up Singleton in a league where I have Big Papi. Skipped on him in a league where I have Miggy and Chris Davis.

Everyone is expendable in a package, except for Freeman. Freddie, "Papi," Belt, LaRoche, Singleton. In order from least urgent to most urgent, regarding willingness to trade.

Is it worth it to pick up Polonco now? Him sitting in one spot is going to waste a slot until he plays

if u have the room I'd say yes. High upside, but be patient and prepare for a bad 1-2 weeks before making any decision

this.

look at springer, dude needed a few weeks to adjust then was on a tear.

polanco could contribute a lot more if they let him run. kind of disappointed springer hasnt run much, but how can you steal a bag when every other hit is a hr
