Nokia's N97 is the latest in their range of high end smart phones. The firstN-Series phone with a touch screen, the N97 also hides a flip-out keyboard. Laden with 32G of storage, a 5 megapixel camera, Nokia Maps, Nokia's Comes withMusic service, and more, this phone is a feature laden treat for mobile phone buffs and a worthy opponent to Apple's newly released iPhone 3GS. In fact, the specifications for the N97 versus the iPhone 3GS are nearly identical, right down to the dimensions. On the N97, you simple touch the screenand swipe in the direction you want to scroll - a la Apple's iPhone. One noticeably absent gesture, however, is the iPhone "pinch" for enlargingand shrinking a screen.

I'm going to be honest and say iPhone 3G S. The asian cellular mobile phones are falling behind in terms of technology thats including all N series againstthe 3GS, i've got to give it up to Apple for setting the bar high. Although any Japanese phone > iPhone.

So how much is the N97? I've been considering one for my new phone (pending I like how it handles if I can ever get to play with one), and it's betweenthe iPhone and this pretty much.

I see them on the average around $600-650, but if you see anything lower then that's a deal.

Reminds me of that scene from Transformer where the leader of S7 was saying the japanese were genius for creating Nokia..

If you had money you'd buy both... if you had hustlin capabilities you'd sell the one you don't like

get the iphone

I was planning on getting an iphone next month when my contract is up - but I could get the N97 now and stick with the same company.

The only thing I see that is better is that it has a radio - it's a shame the iphone doesn't.

Half the speed on 3G though.

Can you get a document viewer for the iphone?

that N900 looks like its gonna be hella pricey though... 500-600 seems about right price for the N97, and if I do get the 3gs i'd be on contract so thatwould be a cheaper route too..... but damn that n900 looks sick, but if price tag is >600 that its a no go..
