Shot in the dark but any chance of me still finding one of these somewhere? My parents want one for my little brother.

if your parents dont mind paying for extras, check out walmart.com the deluxe bundles have been getting re-upped here and there. see if you can find a site or app that will give you stock alerts as they sell out pretty quickly once they get restocked.

edit:

by extras i mean that they will bundle it with a game of two and add the price of the game to the cost of the console.

for example, instead of $350 for the deluxe version, they might sell a bundle for $410 that includes Super Mario Bros.

Thanks man. I was browsing and came across a 8GB that is allowing me to check out. That hard drive size is terrible but it should be enough for a 10 year old who will not be installing anything most likely right?

anyone have any luck just walking into a target or best buy and picking one up?

I've got an hour to kill tonight and there's a couple best buys in the area.

I got to play around a bit with the Wii U at a Best Buy yesterday. I don't like the game pad; the parts feels cheap, the gloss on the front collects a lot of finger prints and it isn't very comfortable holding (though I think the controller being tethered by a security cord didn't let me hold it properly). I didn't get to play anything besides Rayman and watched videos of other launch titles, but the graphics look great.

yea that cord kinda takes away from the feel... as far as it feeling cheap, well they wanted to make it light, in fact it is lighter then most tablets... think it is geared for all ppl from small children to adults alike.

I saw this lonely Wii U at Walmart.

400

I'm kind of salty that the wii u tekken tag 2 has tekken ball.

The online on the wii u is free right?

Have you played Tekken 3? Tekken 3 had tekken ball and it was legitimately fun.

this is gonna flop big time!!
i just dont understand nintendo moves so far from a business standpoint. they said they want to expand their audience and get a more diverse gaming audience...yet all their commercials have  been the same, and been generally geared to the kid/family experience. They have always done this. How are they expecting to attract new ppl, when most of the games out are kid/family/ easy to pick up and play games... and all of the commercial display this as well..i doubt it will flop simply because its nintendo. But wiiu def. should have been the o.g. wii. It honestly doesnt even feel like a new system. It kinda reminds me of sega genesis when they added the 32X and sega cd megadrive.. to try to i guess be on par with everyone else since they had 32bit systems.

Well, continuing to make stuff kid and family friendly does in a way expand their audience. Or it did in the past with the Wii. The only game that would make me even consider buying a Wii-U would be a Zelda game and maybe an amazing new Mario. I could be wrong in my assumptions, but the hard-core gamers are the ones who spend the most money. They do stuff like pre-orders, continue to buy sequels to the games, buy accessories, and dlc stuff. Nintendo misses out on that money when people prefer to play popular titles on Ps3 and Xbox 360. I'd be more willing to buy a Nintendo console again if they stopped with this novelty of only having motion controllers. I don't care about motion control, I just want to use a regular controller and want nice graphics with the games that I want.

but they do have a reg controller... matter fact 2 of them. and how can they expand their demographic, if they keep on doing the same thing? in the history of nintendo they have never promoted or even advertised games outside of the kid/family/easy to pick up and play. Not to say they never made em... they just do so few and far in between, and dont showcase them. They had games like killer instinct... no commercials nuttin, mortal kombat back in the day... didnt advertise it, perfect dark... so on and so forth. They could create make a game on the likes of a never before seen grand theft auto type game... and nintendo, based on history wont even advertise it. not even in gaming mags etc... Yet will roll out the red carpet, put out a multimillion dollar campaign for a new starfox or kirby etc... Not that its wrong cause its working... but it is only making awareness to the audience they already have.

They need to if they wanna expand the market... do like ppl who are running in a democratic audience do... pretty much know you have them in the pocket and cater, pander the ppl you dont have and try to sway them.

uhhh yea they did...this commercial was playing non-stop, i even remember the lines to this commercial lol

I got my hands on one of these for my little bro. What launch day titles besides Super Mario Bros dont suck?

Cant wait for 1080P Zelda my body is ready

Yea true enough and even did a lil mortal kombat one.... but nowhere near or even close to on the scale of what they do for a new mario game etc... or a just dance... lego game etc. Im all most certain they probably will do a superbowl commercial and pretty much highlight games like scribblenauts, kirby a donkey kong etc nintendoland etc.... i mean yea playstation etc other companies had their flagship games and core audience but they at least whether hit or miss go all out for all good games... regardless. Nintendo tends to go with the tried and true approach. Not to its wrong cause its working. But with that being said i dont think it wll work in terms of getting ppl to crossover.
