Looking to get a Wii U for my son. Mos def want the black one. Just now looking at some of the comments and it looks like a solid buy. Just kind of concerned about the topic of the security issues.
I would still go ahead and get the system for your son. The talk about hacking the system is so they can play free games on the Wii U via home brew. You shouldn't worry about viruses or people getting your account information. Those are on Nintendo servers and from what I know they are still secured.
But to add on the subject, I feel this hacking culture is ruining the fun of video games. If you like the game... support the developers who put their time and effort into making that game. If you don't have the money to afford the game, you should save up for it. If its THAT important you might as well pre order the game and pay it off in small increments or wait until it goes on sale.
Why are people so fascinating about people hacking a system so you can play games you don't deserve? I just don't get it...
