Hello PE collectors,
Up until this year I have never owned a PE of any kind, but I decided this year to try to start a Boston Celtics PE collection. I grabbed some general release and limited release PE stuff but not until recently did I get my first two pairs of Promo Sample PEs. I got these two pairs off of a TD Garden employee who said the players routinely give their leftover sneakers at the end of the season to team and arena employees. Either way I love both pairs and I'd love for some of you more seasoned collectors to verify for me that these are legit and that I didn't get screwed on the price. I'm personally happy with what I paid for them, but still I'd like to know if I got around fair market value.
First pair:
This is a pair of Jordan Elements in a Ray Allen Away PE colorway. I know this colorway was released at HOH and a few other spots, i think in 2010, but I do not believe this pair is from the release as it has the Promo Sample Tags and is in Ray Allen's size.
I paid $180 for this pair.
Second pair:
This is a pair of Jordan Icons in a Ray Allen Home PE Colorway. This pair also has the promo sample tag, and was not a colorway that was ever released. The tag is in a tough spot for me to get a good pic of it, but I'll post what I have. This colorway along with 6 others was on display at the Boston shop Concepts for a while, but not in this size. This pair was, just like the above pair, sold to me as a pair that was issued to Ray Allen but never game used. It has the same "Shootman" logo on the heel that my Ray Allen XIII's in the same size have on the tongue. These and the above pair are both Ray's size 14.
I paid $200 for this pair.
So I think the shoes are authentic, but I wanted to ask you more seasoned PE collectors, could I have got these or similar Ray Allen Promo Sample PE's for less than I paid?
