Initially I wanted to restore my Fire Red 3s, so ended up doing a test run on these since I wouldn't be as annoyed if I messed them up.

The paint came out decent but I kind of ruined the uppers with the glue from the masking tape.

Now I'm ready to do these:

Do you guys suggest painting the whole mid-sole white first, and then the red over it? Or can I just paint it in sections on the bare mid-sole itself?

Shoutout to Peabrain (Dom's Restorations) for the advice and help, he does amazing work.

Great Job! and Clean Strip

It was a good idea to start with the Air Revolutions for practice before the Fire Reds

Try the Scotch Blue with Edge lock protection, it sticks well but not enough to damage the uppers, or at least in my experience

As for the FR's, I usually Paint the whole midsole white then the Red over, It will save you time because you dont need to tape off as much (doing it in sections) and it will also almost act as a primer for the red paint
