ok guys I just customized a beat pair of AF1s. I didn't use angelus paint but did use acetone so the paint would stick. All in all, this mediocre job took me like 2-3 hours to do, and that's just on one shoe. I did an eggplant CW.

 trial and error my friend

paint actually looks good just need to mask off unpainted portions

Might do it on the other shoe and see if I yield better results

Everybody has to start somewhere...Keep at it man

and Dont get discouraged!

I won't, just paying 80 bucks for some AF1s repeatedly to get better can become costly lol

hey i am a new customizer aswell, check your local Goodwill for kicks to customize as you start. Yesterday at my local Goodwill i saw 4 pairs of AF1s. Also don't be scared to take early risks.

Thats a good idea, thanks. I don't even plan on rocking my early customs, so buying a beat pair of kicks to try things out ain't a bad idea

cleaner lines and you're good! Also, there are many paints other than Angelus that work well, but you have to make sure you are using the right stuff to avoid cracking, peeling, etc...

what are some besides angelus?

ok so I started on the second sneaker and bought some pure acetone(not nail polish remover). This time when I put it on the shoe these grey spots emerged:

the smell was way stronger than last time and even with gloves my hands got very clammy and it even appeared as if there was some white residue on my thumb. Is pure acetone a little too strong for the job? Also, this time im using tape so hopefully my job will look accurate

nice.

just tidy the edges with a fine brush and some masking and it will look like a million dollars.

Thanks man. Did way better than the first sneaker but need better brushes and more paint
