you'll be right outside the queen city area. I dunno how Matthews area is though. Charlotte is a pretty decent city though.

You have Concord Mills Mall
Eastland Mall
Southpark Mall
Northlake Mall
Freedom Mall (i believe)
The Niche Market (downtown)
NC's Finest

its all about ACC basketball here..
Charlotte area is pretty nice, and the malls can be good as well for pickups
you'll be about 3 hours away from Raleigh, and even closer to Greensboro, which is good for pickups

YO!

Also, NC has some of the best financially affordable colleges as well if you're around that age. And I'm not talking about NCstate, Duke, and North Carolina.

Central, A&T, Greensboro, Fayetteville St., UNC-Pembroke are all affordable options with high education standards.

I hope I don't get flamed for that last line.

We have Central Piedmont CC. At last check, it was one of the best in the country. There's a campus right near Matthews.

If you want a super chill laid back town, come to Wilmington (Wrightsville Beach) for some sand and waves.

It is nothing compared to the city areas of CLT and RDU but Wilmington has a decent historic district with some cool bars and sights. UNCW is always a good look as well.
